While I am sure that bandaidlady has much more accurate information to share regarding this, keep in mind that many people live in your situation for a very long time with minimal difficulties.

My brother in law for one. "C" for almost twenty years....no problems.

I think with type C the list is a fairly long and relatively vague one. (Although, what freaks people out is that it contains the biggies, like IV drug use, multiple sexual partners, contaminated blood products/transfusions, etc.etc.) I personally think this type falls under the "who the heck knows" category.

Then again, between the (your) job descriptions I've seen here.....if these are the type of envoronments I'm speculating that they are (not bad by any means, just higher risk in regards to rogue germs)....lotta bad bugs floating around those places.

I'm surprised no one else has it here, you can get it from sharing a needle in the gym, getting a tattoo, alcohol abuse and from what I now hear abusing certain drugs like Coke and certain pills like uppers, downers....

i started getting serious problems with my tonsils when i was about 9 or 10. i had sore throat,fever,insomnia,loss of appetite,temperature over a 100*,exhaustion,inflamation,depression...for years...finally i took them out at age 15. first few days i couldn't eat,talk and spit. (you will tend to spit a lot,possibly blood,painful feeling,but it last only a week).after couple of weeks i was totally fine.right now i'm 27,smoke,drink sometimes,sing,yell,thx god,it's all good. i feel i got rid of trash from my throat.

The tonsils are two clumps of tissue, on either side of the throat, embedded in a pocket at the side of the palate (roof of the mouth). The lower edge of each tonsil is beside the tongue...way in the back of the throat. The adenoids are a single clump of tissue in the back of the nose (nasopharynx). They are located (in the adult) on the back wall of the throat (pharynx)...about one inch above the uvula (the little teardrop shaped piece of tissue that hangs down in the middle of the soft palate).

Rather, tonsils have been allotted the vital task of checking if there are certain intruders such as bacteria, virus, allergens, etc attempting to attack the human body. Tonsils being lymphoid tissues, they produce the special cells called Lymphocytes. The Lymphocytes are similar to the white blood cells (Leukocytes) with which they form an immunological network of self-defense.

I like to take a pencil and push the eraser on my tonsils to make the mini cottage cheese come out. I put it on my finger and look at for awhile... smushing it gently and stuff. After that I wipe it on my pants. It's good times. : )
