    Vision impaired lifting

This past weekend, for the first time in two months or so, I went out drinking with some buddies. Completely was a lightweight and got tanked after some brew-has.. (I'm at 212, but still a lightweight). And, complementary of me finally going out with my friends, I get my drunk ass into a fight and get nailed in the face. Turned into an ugly black eye... serves me right for getting that drunk.

Anyways, the swelling was mainly underneath my eye, pushing up my on eyesocket; it blurs my vision slightly, and I can't see too far down with that eye. I go to lift today, bench press day, and I'm seriously fucked up. Completely out of sync, I had a terrible day. ALL of my exercises were down, and I just plain didn't feel comfortable.

I thought I'd be alright going in, but vision plays a much larger role in balance than I had thought. Just an interesting experience, and I truely hope it's gone come squat day.

So you didn't prepare for your drinking binge. You got into a fight and got damaged.

Did you use cold compresses on your eye? It can make all the difference in keeping a mouse from becoming a lion (a small bruise and minor swelling under the eye that blocks lymphage, causes the area to become suffused with retained fluid.

Yes of course, but being a drunk fool it didn't stay on for long. The following morning I was a train wreck, swollen like I was allergic to something.. that was this past Sunday. Fortunetly, the swelling is almost completely gone, but my right eye is still shrinked down to about half the normal size (well, not literally shrunken, you know).
I should have put ice on it this morning before going out to lift. I'll keep that in mind for tommarow to see if it helps. I'm not trying to wine about it or anything, as it in fact has not been really that painful at all; it's just a nuisance when trying to lift (also quite embarrasing).
