    Excercise-Induced-Asthma

Is one of my many convenient excuses for avoiding intense non-gym cardio. Im unable to run for more than a while, even with considerable conditioning, without having a mild asthma attack. I can push on, but Im ALWAYS left sucking for air, and needing to quit.

However, I can do most cardio in the gym, because it doesnt have me breathing quite so hard, its just the running.

I have the same thing, but I use my inhaler before I work out. Never have a problem when I do that first. I am guessing that you have an inhaler if you have been diagnosed with asthma. Cold air/temperature is the worst and really hot/humid air is better when exercising outside.

Gotta hate living on the west coast for that reason. It's always warm & humid over here; although the humidity will drive you nuts in the morning when you go to work; you sweat so much, it feels like you've just taken a shower, again.

There are a number of treatments for asthma besides inhalers. I think there is a pill that you can take everyday to help relieve symptoms; Advair I think. Anyway, ask your MD about it. (Damn, that sounds like a commercial, sorry) Drinking a lot of water everyday has helped dramatically too.

Ive taken darn near everything, I tried the advair powder inhaler, didnt help, tried the next step up in strength on it, didnt help. Ive tried albuterol derivative inhalers, and albuterol inhalers. I just stopped taking them all, and did moderate intensity cardio in the actual gym. I can do some HIIT on the bike, but thats basically it
