I had bad arthritis in my knee and left wrist, honestly after a few months of heavy weights it vanished. Though i am probably a great deal younger than your mom, try some exercises like a stress ball or a gripper.

Did you change your diet as well, nsimmons? That probably influenced your recovery from arthritis-like condition in knee and wrist. (I say, arthritis-like, because the condition of degenerative arthritis has to be accurately diagnosed, since other chronic joint problems may be mistaken for arthritis).

I did not change my diet at the time the pain started to receed. The wrist was from a 12 year old fracture that was never set. The knee was verified with an MRI, if i remember right the tech said the red was signs of arthritis, there was a lot of red.

The wrist still acts up, especially when the weather changes fast, but there is no chronic ache anymore. My diet has changed since.

Well then this means that the person suffering from the aforesaid problem must also abide to a restricted diet? I was not aware of this, though the doctors did ask my mom to go with some basic exercises they did not say anything as far as the diet are concerned. BTW she is suffering from the problem in her knees and it has been a good old 3 months! Wonder when she can get some relief!
