shoulder injury
Two weeks ago I was doing upright rows and felt a sharp pain in my left shoulder. I stopped the workout and iced it. I did my back workout without any problem two days later. My next push day i couldn't do flat bench without any pain. However, I could do incline and shoulder press without any pain. I still have a dull ache that is pretty constant, and i can't do any lateral movemants without pain about halfway up. Any ideas?

See your friend for informal advice. Ask your friend if he thinks you need to see a physician for formal medical evaluation of your injury. Stop aggravating the joint by training. Ice it and apply local anti-inflammatories (gels or ointments). This must occur, and it may take weeks for the inflammation to subside - before you can begin active rehab of the joint.
Also note, where one shoulder is damaged, the other may also be at risk. |

I just had shoulder surgery on both shoulders (left 8 weeks ago and right 3 weeks ago) for AC joint (shaved down 1/4" of clavecal), slight tears in the rotator, and roughed up cartilidge in ball and socket area. So far so good I'm gradually getting back to lifting weights again but before the surgery had to quit altoghether for about a month. Got so bad couldn't even do curls... anyway good luck.

I'm glad your on your way back... good luck. My PT told me I have a small impingement and my range of motion was very good. The main problem was my chest being too tight pulling my shoulders forward. He sain with some stretching and massage i should be good to go in 3 or 4 weeks. No push for 2 weeks and very lite pull just to give it a break, I've been at it pretty hard for the last 6 weeks so the break will do me some good. I'll just kick up the cardio.
