Feeling Anxious From Too Much Caffiene

I have to write a final in 30 minutes, I had been studying all day, and was drinking energy drinks.

I waited too long to eat and didn't have a snack (went without food from lunch to dinner, when I usually have a snack inbetween), and drank a litre of water to hold me off (which later made me hungrier).

Then I got home from studying and ate my dinner, and I was still feeling anxious from the caffiene, so I 'dumbed' it down by having a bowl of cereal WITH my dinner, so I could kill that feeling.

I know this is a horrible thing to do, but unfortunately it works, and I can't let things like being anxious keep me from doing well on my final.

Are there any other ways in future that I can 'dumb' down anxious-ness without having to resort to food? This is one of my major problems in sticking with a good clean and consistent program. On most days I do not drink coffee or take stimulants, and it's usually just my nerves.

Valerian root extract is natures valium....
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Are you having anxiety when you ARENT on stimulants? If not, the immediate answer will be to just not take them or lower the dosage.

I am the king of anxiety as I have anxiety dissorder. I usually get my anxiety from other things like life's stresses. I can take stimulants, but they do make it 10x worse sometimes.

Until I hear more info, Ill have to say to just make a decision on whats more important. Feeling anxious or feeling 'dull.'

Dull is good sometimes. I can get anxious, and when it happens, I turn to food as medication. It's a bad bad thing.

If I get too much anxiety from caffeine, I have eat food, otherwise it won't go away and I won't be able to go to sleep, I have to force feed myself, which is not easy, since I don't have any appetite when that happens...It's better to not take too much stimulants

Well, this is true, I'm like that too, I can get anxious even without any stimulants. Red wine helps. Working out real heavy helps. Going to church helps...

One thing I would be sure to do is eat every 2-3 hours. You said you waited to long to eat. Well that combined with being anxious doesnt help you out either.

Caffine fucks with your neurotranmistters in the brain similar to meth. Reason you get jittery is because you falsely raise serotonin, dopamine and deplete Gaba. To offset the anxiousness of caffine just increase glutamine (provided you do not convert it to glutamate then you are really fucked) or gaba intake or just take theanine to offset the negative side effects.

you have excess of stimulatory neurotransmitters and not enough of inhibitory neurotransmitters. Need to rebalance them through life style changes and proper nutrition which has already been previously mentionied in several threads already

There is nothing wrong with eating a meal to kill the bad effects ... just eat things that make sense without gormandising. You need the energy for your studies anyway ... so eat sensibly. Keep a solid cardio routine and you will do well B. Don't stress on it ... plan around this and enjoy it. Cardio fixes all

Rinsing down half a roasted chicken and a loaf of freshly baked french bread with the tall twist off capped 36oz Monster on the other hand ... not so good. You'll wind up looking like Mimi from the Drew Carey show

Caffine is very addictive and easy to build a tolerance to. I too am in college and now how much a NO DOZ or two can help get through tough times, unfortunatly i have built a tolerance and dont feel anxious just awake. But water, 15-20 mins of any physical activity and lower doses are perfect ways to help reduce shaking and anxious feelings. Also if you want to go to sleep at some time take stimulants about 4 hrs. before at the latest if you are sensitive.
