We went over my evaluation today. He wants me to come in 2x a week for 8 weeks then 1x a week for 4 weeks. It totals to 400$, 20$ a visit. I'm gonna go ahead with it. My neck is really bothering me so its worth the money if it fixes it.

Be careful with the neck cracking:

a) that is the whole ball of wax right there.

b) the force created from that snap is similiar to a whiplash. Overtime, that can really loosen up supporting structures (like ligaments).

Make sure he gives you an exercise and flexibility plan to help strength those muscles and prevent the vertabrae from "going out" again. A good chiro should do this. A shitty one will just re-adjust you and then have you keep coming back.

Find the root of the problem and fix it. Most of the time it is muscular (length tension).

We do some physical therapy there and he is giving me a list of exercises to do at home.

I am sick of school right now, but I am not sick of the material, only my lack of free time. As soon as finals are over, I will probably be building things with the knowledge I have gained. But, I guess the difference is I love computer science and doubt I could ever be sick of learning more.

chiropractic, in my opinion, is snake oil. I'd rather get a massage by a hot naked girl...but thats just me.

This is from a very anti-CAM (complementary alternative medicine) website. I happen to share their views and enjoy reading the blog.

A bit about chiropractors;

I just made an appointment with a Chiropractor go next week. I have been to them about 10 times in the last 15 years and each time it has helped.

Only reason I'm going now, is after my last motorcycle crash my left hand cramps up and have a problem with my left shoulder which keeps me from bench pressing much weight unless I use an assisted machine.

Been to 2 different hand specialists and they claim nothing is wrong, and can't seem to find anything wrong with my shoulder.

So maybe a pinched nerve someplace, so hoping the Chiropractor will be able to adjust me and get me back on track.

The Chiropractor did not really help me that much. I tried physical therapy for 2 months, once a week, that really worked well. I now just do the exercises at home.
