    Pros/Cons Mineral Oil

I started using it on my skin in place of lotion. Just wanted to see if there was any real negative reason not to do this. The biggest pro I can think of is I only put it on once or twice a day maybe....usually after I shower and thats it...being an oil it stays on much longer then lotion...and its easy to spread around etc..I got the stuff used for a laxitive at Walgreens since it doesn't have a fragrance. I would have just got baby oil but all the stuff I found has a scent....I am not trying to smell like a baby ass!

My next real concern is do you all think its just as healthy for the skin as putting on lotion or cocoa cocoa butter?

My two cents..... go with clear aloe vera moisturizing gel or at least try it.

I would have thought more people have used this, or at least had an opinion on it.

I would be more than eager to use the mineral oil as said here by others but I would like to know as a novice how would one get to know if the oil being administered is genuine or not? There have been cases where people have been using bogus oils which are being hugely sold and being propagated as mineral oils. Is there a way with the help of which we can differentiate?

I got the walgreen brand in a huge jug.....I assume Walgreens is a big enough company they are not going to package and sell something under their brand name that is not what they say it is. So far I like it....
