is it my kidneys? liver? or just back pain? help

okay.

i take a fair amount of supplements. i smoke ciggerettes unfortunately (working on quitting this horrible habit)
i lift weights.

ive been getting some really nasty back pains mid back.
and now im getting some brownish color to my urine. i dont have pain when i pee, no facial swelling. so im not sure if its my kidneys or not. but the back pain is pretty horrendous. i saw my doctor and he was not concerned. i tried to get the doc to check my kidneys and liver and get some blood work done but since i just had it done last may he wanted to wait. but i couldnt even sleep last nite from the pain.

what is going on with me?

Sounds like kidneys to me. You should go to the emergency room if the pain is that bad.

kidneys, IMO. Could be a stone. Could be Rhabdomyolysis. Get another doctor, or a referral to a nephrologist.

If there is brown in the urine it could be blood. Pee in a cup and have it looked into, also get another doc.

When we smoke cigarettes, it raises the temperature in particularly our kidneys, by 1 degree every time we take a puff.
I personally believe that despite alot of other things about smoking, this could be a good way to mobilise alot of radicals in our cells and in our organs and in our blood. The medical treatment term for that effect is called renal diathermy.

A big problem with doing that though is that it potentials a risk of unbalancing electrolites resposible for heart function and fluid regulation. Both the kidneys and the liver functions can become comprimised because of that.
Generally speaking - because smoking also numbs or blocks receptors that suffocate oxygen paths - extra vitamin c and iron is a good idea to buffer both the potassium demand and the extra oxygen that we otherwise wouldn't get. Apple juice is also great because it has a particular enzyme that re-establishes good cell communication in these cases.
It may just be that you're dehydrated with your back pain and dark pee - but extra water - O.j. and apple juice if you can afford to incorporate some will definately help your long term health maintainence.
If a good flush and regular inclusion of those things doesn't help you - then good luck with a second opinion. Doctors wont usually tell ppl this stuff.. preferring to just advise " dont smoke " or warn " smoking does ..this or that" and dont really ever offer anything practical otherwise. Just like about with steroids, it regularly shits me if anything does that that's how they deal with it so good luck... kidney and fluid problems are just the beginning.
