fluid in ears

My aunt has had fluid leaking out of her ears for 2 years now. She will not see a doctor for it.
Could this be from neck injury, this symptom started shortly after a neck injury.
Thanks

Depends on what type of fluid you are seeing. Could be an infection. Exudate from the ear is no laughing matter, if its infection then it could spread very easily to the brain.

Go see a doctor ASAP, its impossible to diagnose over the internet and it could be nothing but it could also be a very big deal.

I used to have fluid in my ears all the time, mind you this was when i was in Synchronized Swimming. I'd get that stuff you heat in the microwave and pout in your ears to help get it out

yes i may be from the neck injury , but not in all cases, i think this is serious matter for that you have to take the advice of doctor, you can also find some home treatment from the net.

It's difficult to diagnose over the internet - it could be a recurring ear infection, but may involve rupturing of the tympanic membrane (ear drum). Def. seek medical attention so a doctor can look in her ears.

Short Term suggestion: Have her take a decongestant and maintain a hot compress on or around the outer ear.

I see that this post was made in July 2007, How is your aunt now? What did she use for her ear?

Is it part clear in part and white at the same time? Is it sticky when moist and crusty when dry?? Does it sometimes get in your mouth or buttock?
