    High Cholesterol Issue

Just got my cholesterol checked and my LDL level came out to be borderline high: 142, total cholesterol was 210, HDL was good. I dont know why this is, I eat a healthy diet, workout 4 times a week and am not overweight. I think it may be my whey protein, I use ON 100% WHey. Any suggestions for a low cholesterol whey protein?? Thanks

    How is your Fibre intake?

    What about n3 fatty acids?

Red Yeast Rice is meant to be good for battle cholesterol levels.

Is your family genetically predisposed for higher Cholesterol counts?

Your only borderline and what is your total cholesterol:HDL?

Clean up your diet a bit (low sat fat, up mono and polyunsat's, veggies for fiber/micronutrients) and get it checked out again. You really need more than 1 abnormal test to start being worried and look into medicinal therapy. Abnormal values aren't absolute dictators, just risk factors which highly correlate with many cardiovascular diseases.

Genetic predisposition is a biggie, so if you have a family history of CVD then nip it in the butt now and make sure you control it.

Definitely look into upping omega 3 fatty acids, the combination of that and working out did some incredible things to my cholesterol, but that is me.

Genetics can also play a large part like Iain said.

No gym for home, work out floor with 30, but is it for 20 like 30 lb when you no lift it to be for men, for 30 lbs instead? or half is 10 for 20 pounds?
