I am figuring you pinched a nerve or pulled/strained something. glad you're seeing a doctor. It's never a good idea to wait it out if you are in pain.

Ok, so I injured something in my right lat area from what apparently originated from being rolling into my neck laterally without tucking my chin in during grappling training. It bothered me for about a week, but felt better by the end of that week. I decided to continue training and it seemed to spark up a little bit. I stretched it out and it seemed ok. Then I grappled again two days later and the pain got so bad by the end of that day that it hurt to do anything really. It hurt to breath. The pain that night/next morning was so bad that I got dizzy when I would get into an uncomfortable position. I tried training lower a few days later to see if I could handle it but a normal easy clean of 135 was very slow off the floor and my back just wasn't having it. I left before I finished warming up. Itook off the next grappling training day. It is 10 days from the original injury and it is still feeling severe. I didn't go to the doctor because I thought maybe I was just getting very sore and adapting to my new MMA training.
This is the weird part. When I sneeze the pain gets pretty bad and my upper right ab area gets this super sharp burning pain. I noticed that when I press my fingers into a certain part of my upper back, I get that same intense burning pain in my upper right abs. So i got somthing between my abs and my upper back that is obviously not well. I am now decided on definitely going to the doctor and figuring this shit out.
But in the mean time, does anyone have a clue to what sort of injury this may be? Or maybe someone has experienced something similar. Keep in mind that the neck crank may not even have been the original start to the injury, so much shit happens while grappling that I don't remember what I hurt from.

Chuck Norris once lost his keys and couldn't remember where he put them. So he tortured himself for half an hour until he gave up their location.

The symptoms sound exactly the same as when I popped a rib!

Really?
That was one of my ideas, I may have fucked up a rib or something.
Thanks for the quick responses.
Here are some pictures of where the pain is. The red area on the first pic is about where I press when the ab pain starts.

I can't really say what it is, but it may be that you pulled some cartilage, or maybe some muscle, free from the bone.

I fractured a rib during a football game and the pain you describe sounds just like mine. Sorry, but thats about the only help I can give you.

I was assessed by two doctors. They diagnosed me with seperated cartalidge and or ligamament, it was irritating a nerve that wraps around to my abs. They were helpful and knowledgable. The doc said 3 weeks off, ibuprofin and no lifting. Suprisingly, I don't feel that much dissapointed or angry. Maybe I will later though. I'm glad I know what the deal is.

I called that shit! Yay for me!

Yup. Ligament/cartilage damage. Your body is getting used to the MMA training. Expect more of it to come.
I freaked out when i first started training and I was getting pain in the middle of my chest. Thought i was having a heart attack and went to the hopsital. All it was, was cartilage damage.

How does that happen then? Is it just the fact that your body isnt used to such abrupt movements/impacts?
Glad youve got a handle on it though, Fu! Not knowing what the hell is wrong is half the problem i find, you always thing the worst.
