Got'em and healthy as ever *cough*
I still have mine at 28 years old. I have been getting colds four to five times a year though and its always my throat that is sore and swollen.
Perhaps I should tell my doc to take them out, or at lest heavily suggest it.
Who has theirs? Who doesn't? For the group that doesn't, do you seem to get colds less or just as frequent as when you had them?
I do my best to focus on the task at hand, and give 100% in what I'm doing at the time. Nothing else matters except the task at hand.

Mine are out, but they were removed at a very young age, so I can't answer your last question. I don't get very many colds. Maybe one or two a year.

I still have mine. They don't seem to cause me any problems.

I have em... I don't think they cut them out as often as they used to
Hmmm....maybe its all in my head. I just picture this little festering germ colonys in the back of my throat.
Nasty shit I know.

get'em cut out ASAP. The older you get the worse the recovery and risk is.
I was 21 when i got mine out. I was getting sinus/throat infections 4-5 a year. My tonsils were a perma swollen mode for 3-4 years. They were just always big. I also had bad seasonal allergies too.
After I got a tonsillectomy and have only gotten sick once in 5 years and it was barely anything. Also, my allergies disappeared.
I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with the surgery, but the recovery might have been the worst experience in my life...actually it was the worst experience during recovery. HANDS DOWN.
My throat hurt more than any other pain for two weeks straight and it didn't fully heal for a almost a month. I couldn't eat real food for a month. For the first two weeks it was pretty much liquid only...maybe mac and cheese. I lost 20 pounds. It even hurt to drink water for the first two weeks.
but it was all worth it in the end![]()

I has mine out when I was 7. I don't remember the recovery being bad at all. I guess I was tougher at 7 than lnvanry at 21.![]()

I still got them. Big deal.

I got mine taken out as an infant....when I was in my early teens I had a lot of sinus infections....for some reason as I am older they are much fewer and far between...i'm sure that isn't related....but I assume mine were taken out due to infection in them.

Ivanry--I was 21 when i got mine out. Kelju--I has mine out when I was 7.Triple---I had mine out when I was 3.
Bah, that's nothing. I was still in my mothers tonsil before I was even born.

I want to get rid of mine as well, at times I find it hard to swallow.I also get these nasty white fart balls in the crevices.
Still got mine, they don't give me any problems.

I still have mine and I feel fine...knock on wood.

I really want to get mine out, but I am a vocalist, and our band is trying to gain steam right now.
They are huge right now, and they are really the only thing on me that is "sick" at all right now. and it is really bothersome.
I want them out but I dont know if it would be worth it :/

The white gunk you are referring to is called tonsilloliths. That literally means "tonsil stone". They are bi-products of infections, food and dead cells. The only way to ever get rid of them is to have your tonsils removed.

I used to get them all the time!! I HATE THOSE THINGS!!! I haven't had one in years though and I still have my tonsils.
I've heard a few horror stories about getting your tonsils removed at an older age and one included a sink full of blood. That image alone will prevent me from getting them removed.

They are gross.
Gnar. I get those little things too.
I guess its time to get them out.

that picture looks like an STD of your throat. That is gross.
That picture is gross and I've never seen anything like that in my throat.
