tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy

I have been unable to breathe well or efficiently through my nose as far back as I can remember, I snore, and I get tonsilloths fairly often, weekly perhaps.

I am suffering from a mean case of tonsillitis atm, and it feels like its migrated to my ears and sinuses.

Obviously Im not a doctor, so I cant really make that diagnosis, however, I did a fair amount of research on symptoms of tonsillitis. I am covered by medical insurance, and Im interested to know if it would be worth it to me to get my tonsils/adenoids removed.

I feel my adenoids impair my ability to properly breathe during athletic activities or doing vocals for my band, and my tonsils are getting me in some deep shit, as Ive been sick as a result of them twice or more in just the few past months. argh.

how much should I expect for a copay, and how long would it most likely take to recover? I hear there are a host of new removal methods that limit pain and recovery time, which deeply interests me.

I am getting my tonsils removed on May 7.

I used to have problems when I was a kid, now it's not really a problem. I removing them due to the stones I get lodged in them.

The doctor told me it's a Walk-in walk-out procedure but that I would need to take a week off from work. They use a laser to remove them.

He also told the pain is not so bad for woman as it is for men.

I have a friend that had it done. He use to get ill quite a bit each year before the operation. Afterward, he became ill about once a year.

The downside is that you'll feel like absolute shit for a week or more. And I do mean absolutely. Or, at least, that's what I've been told.
