Is she hydrated enough? Are her muscles tight, as in immobile/inflexible?

First of all, is it creatine or creatinine? I've never heard of them testing for creatine but i'm not a medical guru by a long stretch. It is most likely creatinine which is one of the measures of kidney function along with BUN (blood urea nitrogen i believe). If her BUN is within normal limits and creatinine is out of whack it could very well be just a matter of hydration. Blood/urine work etc is not an absolute measure of whatever substance they test for. Its a measure of concentration hence the unit of measure is something like mEq/dL or mg/dL. High creatinine might possibly be dehydration, which might also account for the cramps.

I gotta tell you though, its hard to say anything concretely on the subject without seeing the person. Or at the very least seeing the work up from the lab, the human body is very complex and you have to really look at the whole picture not just one or two little pieces.

Maybe someone like Bandaidwoman would be able to help you further, she comes around once every so often and is really smart. Or your best bet is find a qualified and competent doc to sit down with you and work these things out.

FYI, many women have a lot of trouble with T4 only treatment - turns out testosterone is involved in deiodating T4 (the storage form of the hormone) to T3 (the active form). For this reason, many people - anecdotally, women in particular - often respond better to combined T4-T3 therapy, such as Armour dessicated thyroid. You may wish to advise your mother to explore this as an option - particularly if she has any problems with depression, weight-gain, energy levels or hair loss.

With regard to the creatinine in her urine, I agree with what has been posted.

ya sorry i listed it incorrectly becouse she told me the wrong thing. it is creatinine, the levels were to high in her blood work not urine. dehydration should not be an issue she drinks well over 64 floz a day. as of now she goes in a again later in the month, and she is looking for a kidney specialist to check things out. the only problem so far she has had with the t4 is depression. well that could also be from other factors in her life rite now. i will ask her about weight-gain, and energy levels. she has not had any hair loss as of yet. thanks every one i will keep you updated if i should here any thing.

Depression often responds to an increase in T3.

    It did for me.

Has she been going to the bathroom as usual? Is her urine dark/light, smelly or anything else thats different recently? As i've said before BUN is really the better marker as well as the BUN to Creatinine ratio. Elevated creatinine with the absence of other abnormal labs and signs/symptoms typically indicates dehydration (remember it could've been a transient dehydrated state that you're mother was in if they told her not to eat etc etc before the test or she could've just been somewhat dehydrated at that time in general).

Bottom line i don't think its anything to really worry about unless other signs start presenting themselves.
