Is that how you spell it?
Id like to know who has gotten it done or if anyone has known anyone that has got it done... I got to thinking about this.. I dont want kids until I am married. And I figured that when I was married, at some point in time, the wife and I would go to the doctors office and get this shit reveresed (unless noted by you guys) when we decided to have kids. Until then, why chance it? However..! Does it hurt? Do you cum as hard and as much? Reversible 100%? How much is it?

It's not 100% reversible. It should be considered permanent

Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

As stated, it can't always be reversed. You have to really be sure you never want to have kids if you are going to get this procedure done. Otherwise, just wrap that shit up when you are having a good time.

It doesn't hurt as in excrutiating pain. There's some mild discomfort for a couple of days. It's a good excuse to sit on the couch, watch TV, and have someone wait on you.
After recovery, there should be no difference in sexual performance. As for reversibility, it's very much against the odds. Reputable surgeons will not perform the procedure under the conditions that you have stipulated. You have to be sure that not having kids is in your future. As others have said, find another mean of birth control. |

I'm curious about this too. I'm young, but I want to safeguard myself in the future from ever being dumb enough to have kids. Not a jab at others who have kids, but not for me.

Exactly. Mistakes happen and I dont want something I will regret.
However, hearing that its not so reliably reversible is a problem.

So what triggered this sudden interest in getting a vasectomy?

It might not be fully reversible, but I don't see why you should not be able to have kids if you wanted them.
Your testicles will still produce sperm, so it should be possible to get a sperm sample should you ever need it. |

eh, i have to tell you that kids annoyed the living shit out of me until I decided to have one. you cannot believe the feelings you get when you look at your own kid. of course you dont want to even think about one now, but some day you more than likely will get married and decide you want to have one and when you do, you will think back to this thread and say, damn, thank God I didn't cut my balls off!
you got some time to go, so dont worry, have fun. i didn;t have my son until I was 32, so I cant believe some of the youngins on here decidedly saying they never want to have kids. If you are say, 22 now, wait till you turn 32, you might change your tune completely.

If you are wondering if it is reversible, you are not ready for the procedure. It should be considered permanent. The success rate for reversal drops as each year passes and is quite a different procedure than the vasectomy. Reversal requires an operation (high cost) versus a 30 minute in/out in the doctor's office. The cost for reversal is around 10X the cost for a vasectomy.
No it doesn't hurt. You walk out on your own power. You're tender once freezing wears off but it's managed with T3's just to keep swelling at a minimum. You also get to act like a big suck for a couple of days and get waited on hand and foot. Milk those precious few days for all they're worth. Then life goes back to normal.

Plus, do you know how incredibly costly and really tough it is to do in-vitro fertilization... It quite often it results in a terminated pregnancy and means the couple has to do this several times. It's an emotionally brutal process.

cost in the States is something like $500-1000. Cost in Canada (because it's a covered procedure) is under $100...something between $40-$60 if I remember, it's been a while.

It also depends on the doctor and how much anesthetic they use.
When I had my done, I had a local. Which was fine...right up until they started to tug on parts of my nads that are connected to other internal parts. That hurt like hell. Plus, smelling yourself getting cooked (they solder the tubes shut) isn't as pleasing as it sounds. |

Yeah true enough....I forgot about that part (it has been a while). The smell does suck.
I was frozen pretty good, but that has a lot to do with the fact that he gave me a double dose of local.
