Body Fat % ?

Just wondering how you can find out what a persons body fat % is? I have never done this before and I am just curious how it is calculated so I can find out!

You can get an estimate with a body fat caliper or with a body fat scale (which uses an electric impulse).

But I am sure this question has been asked dozens of times here, so go use the search.

An animal's total body fat percentage is the total weight of the animal's fat divided by the animal's weight and reflects both essential fat and storage fat. Essential fat is that amount necessary for maintenance of life and reproductive functions. The percentage for women is greater than that for men, due to the demands of childbearing and other hormonal functions. Essential fat is 2 to 5% in men, and 10 to13% in women. Storage fat consists of fat accumulation in adipose tissue, part of which protects internal organs in the chest and abdomen. The minimum recommended total body fat percentage exceeds the essential fat percentage value reported above. A number of online tools are available for calculating estimated body fat percentage. Abdomen Men only Horizontal at the level of the navel Waist Women only Horizontal, at the level of minimal abdominal width
Hips Women only Largest horizontal circumference around the hipsNeck Both Inferior to the larynx with the tape sloping slightly downward to the front.

Use calipers. Weight scales and online tools are extremely inaccurate!

Just search for body fat calipers online and purchase them. Make sure to get ones that come with a complete break down of point checks. The more body point checks the more accurate they'll be.

Re:

Cardio...with some weights. cardio burns off the fat (running, jogging, elliptical, classes, walking etc), weights will tone u up giving u more muscle overall and reduce the fat %

also just be careful what u eat, no fatty foods of any kind. stick with veggies, fruit, chicken, lean meats, high fiber things.
