Sleeping through noise
I have a roommate who must always have something coming out of his speakers. Unfortunately the walls in my apartment are paper thin, and I am sensitive to unwanted noise.
Besides asking him to turn it down/off (which I do, constantly), what are some recommendations for zoning it out. I am thinking about just getting a fan and having it run constantly, but am a bit worried about what it would do to my ears in the long-run. Also earplugs- but would like to avoid these. Thanks! |

I am a very light sleeper also. I always have a fan on. If somebody is snoring, forget about it. I can't sleep. It sucks.

Ear Plugs. I use them all the time.
Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

Maybe I'll pick up a cheap fan.
I had a summer job in a factory and had some issues with the earplugs -> ear infections. I also have a pretty small canal so they can get irritated ![]() |

The size and curve of the blade is what makes the best noise. You can go to walmart and buy a $12.00 box fan. I have two. I can't sleep without them. |

It's a bitch man I've been having recent problems like that lately too.. fuckin' hoes.
What I try to do is put on my own music nearby me in my room at a low volume and concentrate to that, or put on an ipod and fall asleep with it on.

In my summer job I have to stay in what we call camps. There basically tiny little rooms side by side and the walls are generally thin as fuck. Some of these old bastards snore like no other or are ignorant fucks and play their tvs pretty loud. I had to use earplugs to fall asleep and now I'm so used to them I use them all the time. They work wonders for light sleepers.
