    My night time shake

    It's loaded with calories and protien....a lil fat too

    Get blender
    2 scoops of vaniila protien powder (50g protien total)
    1 strawberry yoplait yogart pack (5g Protien)
    3 cups of milk (more protien,casien)
    1 banana (approx.23 gr of carbs)
    1 fat scoop reduced fat peanut butter (8g protien)(extra calories)

    liquify

    drink

    you can also add a tbl spoon of flaxseed oil for a few extra calories and fatty acids (ALA, Omegas)

    I would 86 the milk from the shake. milk while it is low GI is highly insuligenic, which means that while it does not cause a great increase in serum glucose it does cause a very high insulin response. elevated insulin levels blunt GH secretion which occurs during the end of the 1st sleep cycle. just something to think about
    I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

    If this is true why do people go with the casein before bed? Duhhh I understand it's slower digesting.

    Have you substituted peanut butter for the protein powder? I don't have protein powder but plenty of peanut butter. That shake not only sounds good, I think it will make my stomach more comfortable shortly before going to bed. Not too big a shake, of course!

    Every night before bed, I make a homemade weight gain shake. I'm only using 2 ounces of half & half cream and only one egg.
