Sesame Brown Rice
Sesame Brown Rice
1 cup fat-free, reduced sodium vegetable broth or water 1/2 cup long grain brown rice 1 tablespoon reduced sodium soy sauce 1 teaspoon sesame oil 1 tablespoon chopped chives 2 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds Bring broth or water to boil. Add rice, soy sauce and sesame oil. Cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Fluff with fork and garnish with chives and sesame seeds. Note: Use quick-cooking brown rice, if desired. Adjust cooking time according to package instructions. Makes 2 servings Serving size: 1/2 of ingredients Nutrients per serving: Calories: 219 Total fat: 4 grams (21% of calories) Saturated fat: less than 1 gram Cholesterol: 0 Sodium: 256 mg Carbohydrate: 37 grams (70% of calories) Protein: 4 grams (9% of calories) Dietary fiber: 2 grams |
