I was thinking...our PB and protein powder could be different, too. What protein powder do you use?

I think X-Ring's Fitday numbers are definitely low.
This is what Mastercook gave me, which sounds more like it: Per Serving (excluding unknown items): 244 Calories; 12g Fat (40.4% calories from fat); 18g Protein; 21g Carbohydrate; 2g Dietary Fiber; 0mg Cholesterol; 19mg Sodium. Exchanges: 1/2 Grain(Starch); 1/2 Lean Meat; 2 Fat; 1 Other Carbohydrates. The protein powder I used was Isoflex, 115 calories per quarter-cup scoop, 27 g protein, .5 g fat, 1 g carb, simply because that's the only one I happen to have customized into MC. |

That's much closer to what I got but I used optimum nutrition 100% whey:
calories: 293 Fat: 12.4 g Protein: 24 g Carbs: 23 g I haven't made these yet because I wanted to find out the nutrition value first. Thanks for all the input! |

This is good sh**
I doubled this recipe, and added chocolate, raisins & nuts. I am pretty on the go at my job, and though it's pretty sweet, it's hella cheaper and better than buying a bar at $2.50 a pop!
Who has tried Jodi's recipe? What does the applesauce do the bar? Does that help in the gelling process? Tip: I also microwave my pb so it's way easier to mix together. |

Jodi, what would happen if I used old fashioned oats?...no steel cuts, would I need to measure anything differently or would it work?

Prince, I made your Protein Bars today and although I do like the taste , they have not set. Are they supposed to be soft and sticky?

I just made Jodies recipe -
they are good but they are like protein muffins - the consistancy is more cakey than of a bar. They are good though. |

Just made these. Changed from one cup of Natty PB to 1/2 PB and 1/2 Apple Sauce. Also whacked in some ground cashews and hazelnuts.
4 tablespoons of honey was still too sweet. Gonna try egg whites to bind and less honey next time!! Thanks for the great recipe RD! |
