Gummi Worms

Ok - I found this on recipegoldmine.com and thought that all you lollie lovers on the board might like to try it. I have not tried it but it sounds ok... And if anyone does try it, please let me know how it turns out!!


Low Carb Gummi Worms
Serves/Yields: 10

Ingredients-
  • 2 packages sugar-free Jell-O
  • 2 packages plain gelatine
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • If sour gummies are desired, add one packet of unsweetened Kool-aid in a flavor that goes well with your Jell-O flavor. The Kool-aid really makes them sour (but good).

Directions-
  • Stir all ingredients until dissolved.
  • Pour the mixture onto a large dinner plate and refrigerate. It will set in about 20 minutes.
  • Either slice it into worms, or roll up the rubbery disk of gelatin and cut it every 1/4 inch with a large pair of scissors. You can also use tiny cutters to make little shapes.

50 Cal (0% from Fat, 100% from Protein, 0% from Carb)
12 g Protein;
0 g Tot Fat;
0 g Carb;
0 g Fiber;
5 mg Calcium;
0 mg Iron;
7 mg Sodium;

Well - it is going to provide you with amino acids (which can be used by your body), but it is an incomplete protein and a poor one at that....

However, on a positive note, it has been linked to helping joint health!

very nice recipe, thanks for sharing.


I of course will use cock and ball molds but whether theyre worms or not they surely sound like a delight!

I am not sure... It might be ok, but it may not set if you add other things to it....

You could always do a half batch test run to see...?

I just tried the Gummi-Worm recipe with 1 scoop of unflavored whey mixed in (22g protein).

It was more difficult to mix (I ended up using a blender). It came out much spongier. It doesn't taste bad, but it doesn't taste particularly good either. Definitely much less candy-like. I would rather put that 1 scoop of whey and throw it down with some water, then eat my gummi worms.

on second thought, i finished eating the batch and i totally got used to the whey gummi worms. i'd give it one thumbs up.
