Help I need healthy mexican food stat.....
Well I'm doing well with my diet, but I keep having a craving for mexican food and that makes me want Taco bell, which si a major no-no.
Anyone have a recipe for whole grain burritos or fajitas or something of the like??? Refried beans probably are terribl for the evening but a good carb for earlier in the day......this may require some thinking. Any recipes out there so I don't have to make a run for the border?? ![]()

You could make a chorizo Burrito just go really light on the chorizo and use a bunch of egg whites. Its cheap to! Must suck living in the mid west when it comes to getting good mexican food. Its all I eat here in co cal.

I dont see the problem with mexican as long as it isnt taco bell
I eat burritos all the time, but the good for you kind (Chicken, pico, black beans, lettuce, lil bit of cheese) I guess the worst thing of all of it is the tortilla |

Real mexican food isn't too bad.
Taco shit isn't real food.

Actually due to the large amount of construction and landscaping done here in Michigan we have a high concentration of mexican immigrants. There is a section of downtown detroit called Mexican Town, and the food is very good and very authentic. If I prepare it though, I know whats in it.

Even in TO eh! I figured you would be able to find some decent Mexican cuisine around there

The Italian, Portugese, Indian, Middle Eastern, etc in town is all really good though. It's a small sacrifice, and not like I should be eating 2 fist burritos all the time either. ![]()

There's a burrito place in Kensington. Sneaky Dee's does some pretty good Tex-Mex dishes. Cheap fajitas on tuesdays.

Though, incase you havent found these two places, as a Yank from a very Mexican state, allow me to reccomend: Mexi-Taco on Bloor and Shaw (just west of christie park?) and Jalepenos on King West of Bathurst. Can't stomach anything else I've found here.

I visited BC for a week hanging around in victoria. I brought a bottle of tapatio up there had to put it on everything. Just seems like the farther north you go the blander the food gets they got some good beer though. its like bland comfort food. |

For sure! Here in California the restraunts are rated for sanitary conditions by letters. The Best tasting places are in The B range. I've eaten at all kinds of taco stands in Mexico and at lunch trucks in my life and have never been sick once.
