^yeah ive been educated on the importance of getting enough fat since then.

ive made these and they are great. i had to add more water when i mixed them up in the bowl but the preperations are spot on!i might try mixing the whey and pb together to evenly distribute stuff a bit more next time since the first batch seemed to have more chunks of pb. the taste is good. more peanut buttery than sweet. might need a little splenda sprinked on top if your looking to sweeten it up a bit.

a friend wants to me to make these for him so i figured out the unit cost per batch and bar. i could probally use some double checking though.

oatmeal $2 a box. 15 cups per container 2 cups per batch .13 cent a cup =$.26 cents a batch
whey $13 per container.30 scoops per container 4 per batch. $.43 cents a scoop= $1.73 a batch
pb $3 a jar.14 servings per container(8 tbsp per batch =about $.85 a batch

total cost $2.84 cents a batch. .47 a bar. cheep as a mofo...

macros to come soon. so far mine seem different than the ones on the first page.

I use a 5-grain hot cereal mix along with the oats. Add a little honey and a few chocholate chips as well. I throw some flour in there as well to give in more structure. I've used soy flour in the past because it has so much more protein but I've also heard soy isn't that great for men. Anyone else know about this?

^ive heard something about soy producing excessive estrogen in men or something. id have to google for a while.
i have been making variations of bars lately with nuts sprinkled on top and cinnamon on top and they are tasty.

i even made a instant version where you mix pb,oats, splenda, whey, and water in a bowl and stir it around for a minute. its like chocolate peanut butter heaven.

the orange juice is just a good bonding agent
no, you have to cook it for about 15 minutes @ 300 degrees or until sides are crisp

i just finished making these and they were good... i didn't want to waste my whey in case i screwed up so i halved the ingredients and just used 1 cup of oats, 2 scoops of chocolate peanut butter whey, 1/4 cup of natural PB and 3 tbsp of water... i agree the final consistency may depend on the size of the scoop you're using for your whey... but mine worked out well... the ingredients mixed together were quite sticky and gooey but i just got my hands a little wet and hand mixed them haha... if you decide to mix it this way i highly recommend wetting your hands first otherwise the ingredients will just stick to your hands like super glue... anyways, i just pressed them into a tupperwear container and put them in the freezer for about half an hour, cut them into 4 squares and they turned out great... talk about craving a glass of milk with them though :P

Mine came out a little gooey, I must have used too much water. I made them last night when I saw this thread. I used natty pb and they taste awesome. Everyone who tried them said they taste like Christmas cookies minus the chocolate. Good stuff.

So any answers on whether these turn back to goo when away from the freezer? Common sense would tell me that when they melt they are back to dough. Any way to remedy this so you can grab em and go when in a rush?

Okay, I couldn't wait, So I just made some,

It's the same recipe but everything is in grams! I used half of what was recommended.

Oats - 55g (Quaker)
Whey - 60g (24g Protein per scoop, Cappuccino Flavor)
PB - 110 g
Water - 110g (Oats are sucker for water!)

I used plastic tray to freeze it, the one's that come with box of chocolates.

It's sitting in freezer, took a pre-freeze snap.
