Make it so new members have to be a member for say a week before posting anything, and then have 20 posts before making new threads. Hopefully it will encourage research instead of blindly asking questions and getting flamed and a more knowledgeable user.

...you get the idea. A zebra can't change its stripes bro.
At least with a week no posting allowed though it may hold it off? I just seems like everyday there are 10-20 new posts about I got an idea to run a bunch of crap I have no idea what any of it does. I'm 19 and 30% bf think it will make me into the incredible hulk. Obviously this is an exaggeration but the point stands.

if we implemented those restrictions the board would die.

Wont change a thing. Some people are dependant enough to spend the time to research their question/queries and others just want to be spoon fed information. I was forced to sign up here as it kept blocking me and telling me I needed to become a member in order to browse the site theads. IM seemed to have the best info therefore I chose become a member.

I will second this motion, especially with the "Sponsor's" arena. This indeed, is why a lot of people make their presence no longer and go elsewhere for a chat and then purchase.
I am aware that many of this board's "Sponsors" have additional presence elsewhere, but if you've got angry customers or a dispute, it would be more beneficial, for all concerned to have protocol and lean towards working on those matters at hand. The issues of further making it a bit less obvious.
This is throwing off the board's ability with making sales and increasing memberships. The matter of expletives or the sailor's tongue is a matter for fun, and less the necessary means, for civil and maybe even simple ending(s).I know, that the words are bad, as well the intent *if false, but honestly in the long run save your stress factor for your bedroom on a different note, or the competitions...that can be your new target

Training is everything. The peach was once a bitter almond; cauliflower is nothing but Cabbage with a College Education.
I also suggest not counting posts that are only emoticons.

I actually used to belong to a forum that didn't count emoticon only post. It also had a section like the anything goes section that didn't count for post either. I don't see the big deal with counting emoticons though. I mean is it that big of a deal they get counted. No.

DRSE Reconnaissance

there's been a lot of suggestions about how to get new people to read the stickies and etc and stop just asking the same questions that keep getting asked over and over like whats better clomid or nolva. i guess this is the first time i've heard a response to one and it makes sense. that being prince runs a board and does this for a living so i reckon he knows more than we do and had looked into and found the current system works best for now.

i wish there was a way to get them read the stickies or something but i'll admit i've asked a question out of laziness before rather than hit up google and wiki
