Chinese people are VERY good at duplicating but when it comes to problem solving in products they just keep quiet......"Yes their schools teach them the technical skills but as far as creativity, critical thinking and abstract problem solving they are lacking."
Many of our clients threatened to stop buying from us if we did not drop prices to meet China prices, We never did & they never purchased from China. "The solar industry is facing a similar dilemma, chinese solar modules are dirt cheap but they are also cheaply made and have a wide variance in actual output like +/- 12%(usually -), whereas our American/Japanese modules are in the +/- 3% range. Also I tell my customers that the smaller modules 10-20 watt that we get from China have changed shape, cell type and actual voltage.amperage 5 times over the last 4 years so it's nearly impossible to get a consistent product from them and they don't communicate they are making these changes. When you have a system on your roof it looks bad when your panels are all mismatched sizes and appearances...."
Purchase is a one time thing, but when it comes to service n support you can't depend on a vendor who's that far & has no international network for support n service.
