Joe Buck, HBO*respond to wild Artie Lange appearance - Richard Deitsch - SI.com

NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, who was a guest in earlier segment with Chad Ochocinco, summed it up best: "It's just refreshing to see white-on-white crime," Irvin said.
Micahel Irvin...freakin great!

Hahah...

I guess I've been busier than I thought, I had no idea Joe Buck had his own show.

Posted by: IainDaniel

It was the only thing entertaining about the Joe Buck show. However Artie was way over the top.

Then he was on Maddog this afternoon sounding like a bitch defending himself.

Posted by: I Are Baboon

LOL....Iain listens to Maddog.

Somebody get a working link, I need to see this.

Thanks in advance and if I find one, I'll be sure to post it.

In a move decried as homophobic, Lange then let his wrist fall limp, put on an accent, and said, "I'm on TMZ constantly, did you see what Angelina was wearing today? What the fuck, how about going to a sports website for Christ's sake?"

Lange even admitted to being a homophobe, to which Buck responded, "clearly."

"As a Giants fan, and a well-known homophobic," Lange said, "it's like a white trash gift from god that the fucking Cowboys have a quarterback whose last name rhymes with homo."

Just Incredible.

Thanks, Min0.

Just watched and while I'd imagine a lot of why I found it so funny has to do with me not liking Joe Buck, I thought Artie was excellent with his delivery tonight unlike some of his other appearances.

What went unnoticed is when Artie was asked by Buck to remove his feet off the desk to which Artie replied:

"I'm getting comfortable. Someone should look natural on this show..."

Howard Stern Sidekick Artie Lange Fires Back At HBO
'Joe Buck Live' makes headlines with debut episode

By Ben Grossman -- Broadcasting & Cable, 6/16/2009 8:34:15 AM MT

If HBO Sports wanted to make some headlines with its new Joe Buck Live, then the debut episode was a roaring success.
While nabbing the first interview with Brett Favre since he and the Minnesota Vikings began their most recent courtship was a major coup in the sports world, the decision to book Howard Stern sidekick and regular David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel guest Artie Lange may have brought just as much attention in the end.

Following Lange's appearance on the new HBO show Monday night - in which Lange's typical expletive-filled shtick took aim at targets such as Buck and Cowboys QB Tony Romo - HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg was quoted in USA Today saying Lange "bordered on bad taste" with his "mean-spirited" tone.

So on the Howard Stern Show Tuesday morning on Sirius-XM radio, Lange responded.

"And Ross Greenburg, you mother f-cker, you came up to me and said, ‘If [fellow panelists] Paul [Rudd] and Jason [Sudeikis] get boring, you go nuts.' So go f-ck yourself, I don't care how important you are in this business."

Lange did say that following the appearance,"[Buck] was very friendly to me afterwards."

The show also included Favre's acknowledgment that he wanted to return to football with the Vikings if healthy, the first time he has spoken about his interest in returning after his time with the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers.

HAHa..I also liked where before Buck and Rudd stand up to hug Lange places his cigarette in Rudd's cup...he had to stop him from drinking it.

They are transitioning from HBO to HOMO, which explains why min0 and Iain are so interested.

Artie rules. I went to school with him in Union. Same friends, same peeps, same homeroom. Guy was funny then, now-he's becoming the white Chris Rock.

His stand up sucks balls. I saw him last year and was extremely disappointed.

saw him at carnegie hall, his opening acts were better than him. like him on stern, and love dirty work.

Exactly. Opening acts blew him away. All I heard were recycled Howard Stern stories for his act.

He is great on Howard. I thought he was hilarious on the Joe Buck show(however it seemed to be extremely inappropriate.)

I've seen him twice at Atlantic City and once at a comedy club up north. Truth be told, he has improved his standup as he matured and got rid of the shit.
As for the Joe Buck show, he was told to "get nuts if it gets boring". Inappropriate or not, they knew what they had. If they wanted to play it safe, they should have gotten Eddie Murphy. He's a fucking waste of time. It's like getting Dice Clay when he was hot at the MTV Awards years ago.

no vids work. damnit!

I saw him in November, if this was an improved show I would hate to see his old shows.

I agree on the Joe Buck point.

Thank HBO for that. I am pretty sure it is still up on the HBO site, however it is bleeped.

HBO aired it tonight.

Yeah cause they know good TV... even though they are throwing Artie under the bus. So called Black listing him from HBO now.

Posted by: juggernaut

I'm pretty sure being on the HS show makes him not give two shits of being blacklisted. His shows are going to continue to sell, his book just entered paperback, he's got a future.

Posted by: Mudge

Joe didn't seem that pissed to me, if he really felt that badly to me they should have ejected him. I swear it looks to me that Joe is going along with the whole thing!

In summation Joe must be a fruit, and a pushover to be so passive about it clearly smiling and laughing at his banter.

hbo sports, not all of hbo.

Posted by: P-funk

His comments would have worked on the Best Damn Sports show. they seem to be less 'pussified' than Joe Buck.

I do agree with Artie though......the Cowboys suck!!!

Posted by: juggernaut

Joe Buck badmouthed Artie two days later. Fucking HBO sucks. They bleep the guy, they blacklist all the videos that people try to see, and they are hypocritical with censorship. They suck. I'm glad I downloaded the Sopranos episodes.

Posted by: freakinhuge

This was so funny, yet I did feel a little bad for Joe Buck. He had no chance against artie lang.

Posted by: min0 lee

Same here, these guys are the total opposites.

Posted by: juggernaut

I felt bad that Artie caught a shitstorm, and HBO had no tailbone to back him up, regardless of whether it went too far.

Posted by: min0 lee

I thought it was funny, some people don't like that type of humor but growing up in NYC this was normal.

Posted by: juggernaut

Richard Pryor was the best at it, Eddie Murphy used to be and now Chris Rock. i'm not putting Artie in that league, but if he continues to hone his craft, he can be funny as shit. Dice had it, and wtf happened is beyond me.
