Help with upper body building.

Hello,

I am new here, and hope that someone might not mind sharing some information with me.

I am a 60 year old male (in good health), who stands 6'-5" tall, and weighs somewhere around 225 lbs. I carry a nice frame, but wish to build & define my upper body. I figure that if I start now, I should be where I desire to by next spring, or summer. I am highly motivated, and will follow whatever plan that would be deemed fitting.

I can't afford membership in a gym, and all that I have to work with is an Impex Competitor Home Gym. I have since lost the exercise charts that came with it, and am in need of some direction as to how best to go about achieving my desired end.

I am mainly interested in my chest & arms, and maybe shoulders. I was also informed that weight, or resistance, was not as important as 'repetitions' - for what I want to do. But I would like to know how to really start, with something like this, and how to effectively move through the exercise program to reach my goal.

Someone also mentioned that cast-iron weights (dumbbells) would be best for me, but I really don't have the place by which to setup a weight bench, with plates lying around.

Advanced thanks to anyone who can help me.

Nathan
