I remember you guys mentioning somewhere about taking it as part of the last week's contest prep. I've always done this anyway, but for the life of me I can't remember why nor can I find any info that points to exactly why to take it those last few days before a contest--everything just says take it.
Can you give me details as to why it works?

Lorraine,
It a good thing to take year round...and definitely at a time when immume systems get compromised such as contest week. But it is not part of our "Final Week" program...sorry!
Follow your instincts. It does have a mild diurectic effect too.

Thanks DP. For the maintenance of the immune system during times of stress on the body made sense, but it must be the "mild diuretic" effect why it's mentioned so often. Everyone trying to get rid of that last little bit of water.

I know this question was not meant for me, but here's my 2 cents. Vitamin C, along with B6, and dandelion root makes a potent diuretic combination in the final week. In addition, vit C can lower cortisol levels in times of stress...of which there is much during the final week. Cortisol can eat muscle tissue and cause water retention, so obviously keeping it at bay is a great thing...and like I said, vit C can help.

Thanks GoPro. Anyone was more than welcome to answer. For some reason I was sure it was DP or W8 that I saw recommend it to someone recently, however I couldn't find the post.
What you mentioned is very similar to the stack I take. D-root, B6 & C, but I also take potassium.
My calf cramped up so bad one time in gymnastics when I punched into my back hand spring because I had not drank enough water that day. It wasn't even close to contest time. I just had not drank enough water that day. The pain was so bad, it was like in the cartoons when Wyle E. Coyote stops mid air realizing he just went running over the end of a cliff and then just plummets to the ground.
I would not want that to happen on stage--there's no cushioned floor or crash mat to land on.

We have other ways to deal with cramping...use a multimineral with dinner

Sometimes spontaneous cramps can happen from sudden pressure like a jump or foot stomp. As for cramping on stage there are ways to deal with that, and I'm sure DP and W8 will take care of that for you.

DP~yeah...I do take a multi-mineral every evening with my last meal.
Gopro~yep...that's exactly what happened. Felt like I had a boulder in my calf for a good 15 mins.

I figured so. This is common and can happen even when not in a depleted state.
