How unfortunate for everyone.

Well the kid might not have been using correctly or been in a position to use steroids with possible pre-exsisting conditions, HOWEVER these supplement companies do market their products as being as safe as a chewable flinstone vitamin and do not give the user any knowlege of things to watch out for...such as high blood pressure. I would have to assume it was high pressure that led to the stroke, and that could have been avoided very easy by just testing and realizing what it was doing, and then cutting off the drug.

Prime example of why you shouldn't take random supplements, and why some form of regulation on the supplement market is needed.

is more regulation the answer?

teenagers also smoke cigarettes underage, and they drink alcohol, is that a reason to make them illegal for adults?

It is the answer....I said some form of regulation...not government take over of the industry.

Steroids should not be in supplements OTC where a high school kid can just go purchase it. I mentioned there could have been many contributing factors to this kids stroke....but side effects from AAS didn't help. In a perfect world steroids should be legal for adults to consume...but in the supplement industry where these wonder compounds are being labeled as SAFE and side effect free ways to increase size...its very misleading. No drug comes without possible negative effects and the least a company can do is warn their patrons of them so they can be aware and not ignorant. Some supplement companies are not legit and doing shady things to make a few dollars and that needs to end. I feel regulation of some sorts is the only way to make that happen.

Not more regulation just for the sake of more, but better regulation in general is badly needed. The health foods and supplement market is as crooked as American politics.

Prohormones will get banned for everyone, because people will get hurt doing stupid shit. The backlash from a few kids getting hurt taking this stuff will fuck it up for everyone just like everything else. Steroids and prohormones should be legal for adults just like alcohol, tobacco, and double cheeseburgers.

One kid had a stroke. Boo-fucking-hoo! But the backlash from this and other cases like it will fuck it up for everyone. Sadly this is the case with nearly everything I like to do. One kid gets hurt, then everybody freaks the fuck out like its the end of the world.

well, they could put age restrictions on supplements, e.g. 21 or older for certain products, however that does not stop young teens from smoking and drinking, if they want it they will get it. we (supplement companies) all put warnings and directions on the labels, if that is not followed we cannot help it, if supplement store owners are not responsible with the way they sell their products we cannot help that either.

well many of these prohormones say they have no sides and its just not true...anyone that has taken M1T or many of the others know this....so many stopped them due to the sides and people here know better....imagine the issues among folks out there without a clue who listen to these large comanies crap about being safe and no sides. Then you have companies making designer steroids to sell until the government catches on, and God only knows what these mystery drugs will do to us.
