US Magazine - An ex-girlfriend of Alex Rodriguez claims that the Yankees slugger had portraits of himself as a centaur hanging over his bed.

"He was so vain," the woman told Us Weekly. "He had not one, but two painted portraits of himself as a centaur. You know, the half man, half horse figure?"

Rodriguez's new fling, Kate Hudson, is reportedly trying to make him less of an egomaniac.

I don't like him, I just never understood the constant shit he got from Yankee fans for underperforming in the playoffs, as if he was the sole player to blame for their misfortune over the last several years.

The what have you done for me lately attitude is my biggest pet peeve with baseball fans. It just so happens that the majority of Yankee fans fall into this category.

You are so wrong. How would you know this if you have never stepped foot in New York. Now if this came from a St. louis fan I would understand...but from a Boston fanatic like yourself, please spare me the baloney.
You must be confusing the fans with the Media, who can be scum.

We give players great respect when they accomplish something here, look at Gooden, Strawberry and Mattingly......2 wasted their careers on drugs yet we forgave them....mattingly was never the same after his back gave out.

But we still love them for what they accomplished.

A-Rod can change a game with his bat, it's only now this year that he has done so. He was really only shut down two games in this play off.

He is a premier player, bats cleanup, makes the money....he should produce.

I'd never be dumb enough to write off an entire fan base.

I know there are good people in Yankee land, you being one of them (sometimes).

Maybe more media outlets (fuck ESPN) are making it appear as if headlines in the New York media are the general consensus among the fan base but having been to NYYfans, it seems pretty believable.

See that headline, when I saw it this morning it made me sick.
Replace him with Giambi and I'm sure the Yankees would not win the division without him.

Interesting thing I heard today, the writers who write the main story do not have anything to do with the headlines, they make the headlines with their sole purpose of selling papers.

A lot of it's that but a lot of it is has to do with what comes out of his mouth.
Just a few days ago he was asked a question about his hitting before he hit that double scoring Damon and he mentioned how he and Tex weren't hitting...why mention that?
