No baseball strike. Too bad. Bunch of whining pussies.

Really, I was hoping for a strike to put an end to the Red Sox miserable season.

I was hoping it would happen so that the MLB would go under and have to fire all these overpriced crybabies and actually hire people that want to get paid what they are worth.

I think the damage already has been done.

"Oh put me out coach, I'm ready to play.....today... I can be... centerfield.."

I really don't care either way. I haven't come back from the last time.

Ditto, that pretty much ruined it for me. I only found out about this yesterday, another damn strike??? They have got to be kidding!!!

They want 90 million a year now to hit some balls?

My train of thought, is that if they (MLB PLAYERS) bring the fans and sell the merchandise they earned the money and they deserve the money. Where should this money go? To Doctors or police officers? NO. They didnt earn this money. The MLB players did!

I agree to some point, but so far as I know they are not really making all that much money (teams). I don't know enough about it though to give financial insight into that whole ordeal though.

Since the whole thing is a money making proposition, I dont' see why cities IN ANY PART AT ALL pay for building the stadiums. Yes some of them do use them at other times of the year, or football teams etc, so why not rent out an agreement of some sort? Instead what happens is the teams say "were poor we can't afford a stadium unless the city pays half." You don't hear Cisco begging the city to finance thier buildings, so I don't see the difference. Why does the city have to pay for the entertainment of a few of its citizens? Why not put that money into parks, homeless, etc

I don't see why ticket prices have to be so damn high either over the years, and I think this is driven by the constant desires for yet more millions from the players, not because there is some massive surplus that the team owners have.

Ticket prices increase with the rising economy like anything else.

You mean the sagging economy. We are on the verge of another Black Tuesday.

There is no excuse for a 150% ticket price increase...ever.

Cost of Living does not increase by any such standards that baseball owners legitimize, or the players justifying a $2.5million increase. It's simply a money grab by 2 parties that seem to think they need more money to "survive".

You are correct. The players are the ones that fans pay money to see (with the exception of certain teams like the Yankees), and they deserve a bigger cut of the pie. But don't you think that 5 million dollars a year is a little far fetched? Especially when you consider all of the sponsors, endorsements, bonuses, and perks each and every player receives. Do you think the owners would stop charging $120/ticket if the players were only making an average $100k? Of course not. It's all an endless circle of blaming the other party in hopes of getting the market analyzers on their side. The fans who?

All for playing a game for 2 frickety dickety months a year. (YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO BE PHYSICALLY FIT AT TRAINING CAMP TO MAKE THE OPENING ROSTER!)
