Rudy is that the movie about the kid that was real small playing football but never gave up. They let him play in the last game of the season and the grounds keeper was his friend Right?

God, I can't believe I'm going to say this, but.... I actually agree with bigss on the Rudy thing!

Posted by: seyone

Slapshot is my favorite on the list and one of my favorites all time.
Rudy should be on the list for sure.

What about "The Longest Yard" or .... shyt.... what the movie about playing hockey in Alaska? The locals against the Rangers?

Posted by: seyone

Thanks seyone! Oh, and BTW, the Longest Yard is up there

Posted by: seyone

"Major League?" Good baseball movie!! Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger, Wesley Snipes, Renee Russo.

The Emilios Estevez one could be "The Mighty Ducks"??

No, that's "He Got Game."

"Hoop Dreams" was a documentary that followed the lives of two promising young hoop players from about age six through college. It was just boring.

Baseball movies should not be listed in a "sports" category.

seyone, I thought Youngblood sucked. I do love hockey movies, but YB was pretty chump. You could always put Sudden Death in the list, if we go by Hockey movie standards.

What about:

Kingpin
Happy Gilmore
Beyond the Mat
Gleaming the Cube
Blue Crush

I liked it. Ray Allen is actually a pretty good actor. And Denzel....well, you know Denzel was good.

NOW I MUST RENT IT!!!!!

LEAD ROLE? Was it like a Rico Suave type role or just him being him as NBA Star?

Whose the Co-star or the gal (especially the breasted one!)

I don't remember who else was in it besides Ray Allen and Denzel. Ray Allen played a talented high school hoops player living in the projects. His father (Denzel), whom he hardly knows, is offered early release from prison if he can convice Ray to sign with the prison warden's alma matter.

Oh brother, probably based on a true story too, heh.

Posted by: davidjasondean

Oh, that sound's pretty cool! I'll rent it!!!

Tonight I rented Crossroads with Ralph Macchio and Steve Vai!

OMG! I remember that one! Strange, from what I remember!

Posted by: davidjasondean

It's like that song "Devil went to GA" by Charlie Daniels..... it's really cool! Macchio is the good guy and Vai is the DEVIL and I think he bets his soul... something like that!

Posted by: seyone

all I know is that I really like that song. never seen the movie though

Posted by: I Are Baboon

The Family Channel played "Most Valuable Primate" last night. It's the story of a chimp that plays hockey. That, IMO, should be #1 on this list.

Posted by: ponyboy

What about Any Given Sunday? I thought it was a great movie...I have Pacino's "Peace with Inches" speech downloaded and listen to it whenever I need to get fired up.

Posted by: shooter

Vision Qwest wasn't too bad. I agree that Any Given Sunday, and Remember the Titans should be on there. Another pretty good football movie was "The Program"

Posted by: seyone

yeah, Remember the Titans was a good one.

Posted by: I Are Baboon

How about "Ladybugs" starring Rodney Dangerfield? How could that one NOT be in the top 20?
