NO YOLK!

My fave is: "Egg in the bread"

Cut a hole in the middle of a slice of bread. Butter up a pan. Place bread in pan, Crack egg into hole. Saute. Flip. Saute. Cut it up-yolk runs all over.....So delicious-haven't had it since I lived at home

Posted by: lina

Hey Les, my kids like it that way too! I haven't made that in a while I will have to make that for them again!

Is it just me but I noticed a few adults having ear infections lately.... Feel better David!

Mine: Over easy WITH the yolk broken!

Jesus Les, First the chocolate, now with the "egg in the holes" (that's what we call them)....I know what I'm having for dinner tonight.

Posted by: Mudge

I was having tons of eggs a couple months ago, about 68 a day. You get tired of eggs pretty fast around that point, I was mixing up how I made them to avoid getting burned out, used salsa on either scrambled or sunny side up.

I can't beleive I forgot it too!

Why thank you, my hidden saviour!

To also respond to Lina' s statement of common earaches, it could be due to computer overusage aka. post whoring!

Also, I had a spanish roommate (hot she was back then) and she wakes me up asking if I'd like ranch eggs and I told her that didn't sound too good! So, in curiosity, I run down stairs:

I said, "WTF are ranch eggs?"
She says, "My kids love them"
I reply, uh, OK that answers my question"

So I get kicked out of the kitchen.

I came back after I heard her calling the kids. I looked at their plates and it was sunny side up with a side of a big tomato.

I said, "that's ranch eggs?"
She replies, "yes"

That sounds pretty good, Les. Think I'll substitute, "I can't believe it's not butter". I take it that this is cooked at a medium high heat?

68??? Tell my you're joking. Did you mean to say "6-8"? Holy crap, I eat a dozen a day but, 68??? That's 408 grams of protein per day. How much do you weigh?

Posted by: Pianomahnn

My favorite breakfast.

1/4 - 1/2 lb of bacon, cooked not crisp, but just long enough where it isn't floppy.

3 eggs, dropped right into the bacon grease, over easy. This gives them a crispy exterior.

White toast, and 1 or two large glasses of OJ.

edit: Toast is saved for last to wipe up the plate and make sure every bit o' egg and bacon is in my tummy.

For the fun of it, (something different) I think you should get 68 pcs. of wheat bread, cut holes out of them and drop the egg in each of the pcs. of bread. (for 1 day)

Hi Les!

Actually, I just made Leslie's egg thing and it wasn't too bad!

Homer Simpson likes that also except make a triple order of bacon!

A meal for me might have been 11 egg whites and 2-3 yolks, not whole eggs. I lasted about 3 weeks, they are high in sodium so I know some people avoid them for that reason. Cheap source of protein though! I was getting 36 eggs for $2.99 at that time, AA large.

Posted by: irontime

I think I'm figuring out how come your post numbers are climbing so fast

Shaken, not stirred

DAMN, for that price I'd be pounding them down too. I pay almost that much for ONE dozen.

Where the heck do you live? Sam's Club, Costco's & BJ's have them for lower than that.

We have WinnDixie & Albertson's that also has prices this low for the 36 egg count.

Posted by: Mudge

Yep, I go to Safeway and Costco would definately be less when you buy them in those big ass boxes, never got a membership there though (I think its $45 now ). I have another place I go to which is alot smaller but has alot of bulk items, like 1 gallon sized cans of green beans, $3.99 , 4 pound can of tuna, $4.99 or $5.99

Smart and Final, I can never remember the name for very long

Couldn't agree with anymore on that one but we all know where the protein really lies on this. The WHITE part! Eeeeyyucck!

Posted by: CRASHMAN

EWWWWWW I HATE THAT CRAP....why can't it taste good like the yellow part?

Posted by: david

It does.... use your imaginatiion!

Posted by: CRASHMAN

it's a;; jiggly and and nasty it's like eatin jello or somerthin

Posted by: david

make them scrambled then. If you like the yoke (your allowed 1 to two yokes) and your hung up on the runny style yoke, then do this.

Scramble 1 yoke with 8 (or however many you use) whites and then, cook one whole egg sunny side up. Your scrambled should be on a plate already, now take the sunny side egg and break ti over the scrambled!

Posted by: CRASHMAN

thank you chef dave

Posted by: david

Okay, yoke man!

Posted by: Mudge

Costco here, 15 dozen large AA $9.99

Posted by: david

Not bad. Sound's like Grade A Large white eggs?

Posted by: Mudge

I believe they were Large AA, white eggs.

Posted by: david

Large AA? That's a "new" rating???

Posted by: david

I used to like the doubleyokers!!!!!

Posted by: Mudge

Uhh, I've been buying Large AA eggs for awhile, unless my eyes are worse than I thought...?

I bought a couple 6 pound bags of boneless skinless chicken breast, $2.15 a pound.

Maybe I missed it then, probably. That chicken is the same price I pay. Is it frozen or precooked or both?

Posted by: Mudge

Frozen, in bags. If I buy it non-frozen it costs more, I believe thats because its the in-house butcher, not Foster Farms etc, over here its now up to $3.29 a pound instead of $2.99, some places down south of me actually charge LESS than Costco!

For me $2.15 a pound is whup ass, too bad they dont have turkey

Hmmn. Frozen turkey? Sounds like a good alternative every once in awhile. Can't you just buy a 20 lbs. turkey and cut it up and freeeze it? I've never done that .

Well, Thanksgiving and the holidays are coming around soon, so we will all be able to get it dirt cheap. (I think I'll get two and try the cook/freeze method.

Posted by: Mudge

I can't even find turkey other than processed.

Posted by: david

Processed turkey is

Really, they don't have it in regular grocery stores???

It's $99+ a lb. right now for us. Butterball, Purdue etc.

Meat loaf & Turkey processed SUCKS!

Tehachapi, CA. The only grocery store in town is Albertson's and the BITCH.............errrr.............store manager soaks you for everything she can. The nearest Sam's Club is about 100 miles away. Explain this, Wal Mart has a major distribution in Bakersfield, (we go to Bakersfield almost every weekend) but no Sam's Club. Not one but TWO Wal Marts but no Sam's Club. I HATE THIS FREAKIN' STATE. WHEN CAN I MOVE TO LAS VEGAS?????

Posted by: Mudge

Processed turkey tastes kind of like turkey balogna, I cannot find regular turkey anywhere no I've looked because I was tired of chicken for awhile, I'm putting salad dressing and/or sometimes garlic on it at the moment, makes it fairly edible. Its at least not as dry as my lunch tuna!

You could try "woking" it with rice and vegetables.

Wow, you really are out there in Cali. I'm looking at it on a map and I see. 2 Wal-marts and no Sam;s is kinda ridiculous and that being a major distro area.

What is the population in your area?

Posted by: Mudge

I went to Best Buy today to buy some beef and olive oil, and finally see whole turkeys, I think it was 79 cents a point but already forgotten for sure.

Posted by: david

There ya go and at a better price then what I get! You better go get some now!

Posted by: david

Wait, BEST BUY? The Electronics store?? Must be a different Best Buy from the major chain, BEST BUY

Posted by: Mudge

CRAP, Smart and Final, I stll can't seem to get it right, don't know why. LOL

I was going to say there for a minute! Best Buy retail electronics could have a major lawsuit against Best Buy grocer!

Smart and Final: I think they just open one up in my area. Do they require a membership fee like these other wholesale stores?

Posted by: Mudge

Nope! No membership fee, just bulk goods. Big ass cans of veggies, meats etc

I get 20 1/4# Sirloin patties (22g pro/17g fat) for $12.99 , although I imagine I should drop it from my diet soon, but DAMN so cheap I have one per meal generally, but am going to slowly get away from it. I am trying out Olive Oil (have flax coming in this week also), supposedly great for energy (tastes like a weak 3 in 1 oil, aftertaste is like a light fish oil, blech).

David, have you read this?
