soy protein isolates are about equal to whey protein isolates and better in some ways.

i've heard something similar. on Foodnetworks "Unwrapped" actually where they did soy food products and said it soy contained a chemical or hormone which increased estrogen. so i stay away from it

It does have a test-lowering impact. Stick with whey.
