To make sure you make your flight, you have to be at the airport two hours early. Often times I was flying out at 10:00am. If I was working an hour and a half from the airport, plus I had rental car to drop off, I would be waking up at 5:00am to make a 10:00am flight. Usually I had been up until 2:00am the morning of my flight out making sure my job was done and was clear to come home or fly out to the next job.
That is 5 hours of my life I lost every god damn flight. Then throw on the fact that at least a quarter of my flights were delayed, canceled, or my layover was 5 hours anyway. I was living in airports for two years and got use to seeing many of the same people over and over. It's funny how many frequent fliers know each other only from repeatedly getting stuck at the same airports together.
So, if you fly less than 5 times a year, your opinion matters about as much as the fitness opinions of someone who works out 5 times a year.
