I don't think I'll ever fly again. I'm tired of all this stupid security that serves no purpose. Stop searching everyone and only search the god damn towel heads instead. It's Muslims every damn time, not old white ladies!

Really Timothy McVeigh wasn't a "towel head", nor was the Olympic bomber nor was Richard Reid the infamous shoe bomber who got lighters banned.....

Get groped and move on, who fucking cares.

Posted by: SFW

this is more incentive to fly if you ask me.

People who travel care, because it already takes two hours to get through security and to your flight in the major airports in America. It is just more shit to slow everyone down.

The reason it takes so long to get through security isn't the pat downs, it's the fact that people bitch and moan about the pat downs and are completely unaware of the rules and regulations that come with flying in 2010.

Last Christmas at Logan, I was flying back and we were an hour away from our flight. While everybody in line was complaining (I have to take my shoes off too!?; My laptop needs to be out of the case!?; etc), I stripped down to my boxers (would have gotten nude if my brothers weren't embarrassed as is) to make certain I wouldn't set off the alarm and was in and out of that chaotic mess faster than anybody before me.

If you don't want to be slowed down, you don't have to be. I'm not saying everybody should get nude because I know that most people aren't insensitive about being naked in front of large amounts of people like I am.. but knowing the rules, paying attention to orders, and complying with these rules and orders will get you through in a jiffy.

Alex Jones, I like his show!

Bring back the fat black ladies in those tight ass capri pants, maybe it would make it a little more enjoyable!

Man, they really don't have to do all that perverted stuff to everyone. All they have to do is train these freaks better and teach them probing Q's to ask. Like the 5 W's, if a person stumbles or can't answer where he came from or where he is going, then you pat him down.

But what it really boils down to is this, you give these freaks a little power and they think they're god!

Yes. TSA pay rates are not very high.

And honestly, who WOULD want to do this job, especially now?

Yes, the probing questions are better, even if the suspect rehearses, and many claim that profiling does work.

Israel has the strictest airport security in the world (so they say) and I've flown in and out of the place.

They do not do what the TSA is doing.

Man, flying is stressful enough as it is. I gotta have a few beers and a couple of pops of Tequila, before I fly.

Now, I'm gonna have to drink twice as much, just so I can be willing to have some dude stick his hand down my pants.

Chief, I took over a hundred flights from 2008 to 2010. People complaining about security accounts for negligible of the time it takes to get to your plane. Taking off shoes and putting on shoes, unloading laptop bags, investigating my god damn screwdriver set for 10 minutes, stopping the progress of everyone on the x-ray line because of a suspicious cream in the bag of some 40ish white soccer mom, and giving me the wand despite the fact that I was dressed like an IBM employee is what accounts for the long security check-in progress.

I have been there so many times, I wanted to turn into a suicide bomber myself. Also, the biggest time waster is people who can't figure out how to operate the ticket kiosk. Jesus fuck me Freddy! I have walked to the Kiosk and helped the 5 people in front of me before so that I could get to me gate on-time. That sure backfired in my face because my place was delayed 2 hours.

I just arrive early for my flight and get through the process. I really don't think it's that big a deal.

Posted by: SFW

^ exactly. You should be getting there at least an hour b4 departure, at least. SO you guys thinks a quick ass smack and cock grab is going to hold you up? You sit at the gate for at least 30 mins.... pretending to read something while sneakilly looking for A-rab faces.

This isnt going to be a prob. Unless youre a fatty and just dont want hands on you. Shit, i wish they pulled me off to line so i could strip down to my draws in front of 50 people. Theyd all ask if i worked out and id of course say no, i do not.

Again, I reiterate that I was taking 5 to 10 flights per month. International airports like Atlanta can take much longer than an hour to get from parking to your plane. Security might take 20 minutes, or it might take an hour. Ticketing may take 5 minutes or it might take an hour.

To make sure you make your flight, you have to be at the airport two hours early. Often times I was flying out at 10:00am. If I was working an hour and a half from the airport, plus I had rental car to drop off, I would be waking up at 5:00am to make a 10:00am flight. Usually I had been up until 2:00am the morning of my flight out making sure my job was done and was clear to come home or fly out to the next job.

That is 5 hours of my life I lost every god damn flight. Then throw on the fact that at least a quarter of my flights were delayed, canceled, or my layover was 5 hours anyway. I was living in airports for two years and got use to seeing many of the same people over and over. It's funny how many frequent fliers know each other only from repeatedly getting stuck at the same airports together.

So, if you fly less than 5 times a year, your opinion matters about as much as the fitness opinions of someone who works out 5 times a year.

I can understand how it would be a drag to fly that much. A lot of the details and problems with flying can be frustrating, and I imagine having to go through the process so often would make it that much worse. I sympathize with your situation, and I'm sure most of us would share your frustrations with such a rigorous flight schedule.

Posted by: maniclion

I usually don't give a shit about airport check points, I always wear my linen lounge pants, a nice comfy aloha shirt(classy kind not Magnum) and sandals....

I am thankful that I have a stationary job now that requires no travel. I know I come across like an overbearing Nazi about the subject, but I'm mainly just trying to get my point across that this is a bad thing. There are a lot of frequent fliers who are at wits end already. More security isn't the answer. Smarter security is the answer.

Seriously, stop fucking wasting everyone's time searching through some old white bitches purse. I know they have to make it look like the airport isn't profiling, but that isn't the fucking time. Put the old bitch in a walker in an express lane and get her ass out of my way. Make a suspected terrorist line where all the towel heads with beards go for more stringent security practices. We can streamline this process, but we have to bring in fresh ideas

things haven't been efficient in this country for quite some time the mentality is more of everything is "better". efficiency doesn't allow for bloated budgets.

I love it when I'm watching the news and they discus the weakness in airline security, fucking idiots. media outlets in other countries don't provide criminals with information to help them. US news media outlets are a joke

Seriously, we know who the terrorists are. They're the fucking towel heads. Not all muslims are terrorists, but with few exceptions, almost all terrorists, these days, are muslims. Sure, you can always name a few here and there, over the years, who weren't muslims. But, if you look back over...... say the last year, you'd have your work cut out to find a single attempted or successful attack that didn't involve muslims. Stop feeling up the blue haired old grannies and do some smart, technical profiling, just as the FBI and local police forces already do when investigating any crime. It's not bigotry, it's efficiency. If the mooslimes don't like it, they can take a fucking Greyhound bus. If that happens, of course, it won't be long b4 a few Greyhound buses blow up. So, maybe that's not such a good idea.

I've got a flight this saturday. When TSA pats me down, I'm going to roll my eyes back and moan and ask the person not to stop.

when we used to do drug ops with the coast guard in the Navy those were the only boats were ever searched, the small ones with families and old people on them from traveling to/from South American to the Keys. "They" told us it wasn't efficient to spend the time searching tankers and supertankers. with hundreds of metric tons of cocaine coming into this country year only a complete idiot would target small boats.

when they hassle large numbers of passengers at the airports it gives the illusion that "security" is increased

Posted by: GearsMcGilf

I doubt the cartels are smuggling blow in on small boats, a few 8-balls at a time. That's fuggin crazy.

No whole hulls at a time.....just like when I was on the Vessel Board Search and Seizure team in the Persian Gulf we stopped a few boats, one had a hull full of used tires, but we had to search each tube of 8 stacked to make sure nothing or no one was hidden coming from Iran to Iraq and another had bags of rice hidden under planks in the hull....

I never said we shouldn't profile, because we absolutely positively should. But I think a lot of the stress of the security checkpoints is brought on by people who are A. in a rush or B. don't know the rules.

If you want to talk profiling... Well, I'm all for that.

I don't travel a fraction as much as I used to but even still when I do I dress in a manner that expedites my processing through security. frequent flyers whether they travel for business and pleasure aren't usually the problem it's the newbies the process.

Posted by: maniclion

They should have a background check system for frequent flyers who wish to zip on through to pay for so they can skip the BS.....I had a Top Secret security clearance and was trusted with radio frequencies and other technical details of comms. yet I can't be trusted to board a plane to go 300 miles with a bottle of shampoo or a cigarette lighter or they think my laptop is a bomb, the laptop that I dumped carelessly out of the bag(who would drop an explosive device like that?) and then have to turn it on....yeah that's what I want is the terrorist in front of me to turn on his bomb while I'm standing behind him barefoot, holding my pants up with one hand and hoping they don't want to check the pill bottles in my bag.....

but yes, it takes so long to get through the lines.

the priority access lane certainly helps too

about two and a half years ago I did some consulting work for AUDI in Hungary. I was flying back via Amsterdam (only had a 2 hour lay over ). Anywho I was sitting in business class waiting to depart and the captain anounces a 30 min flight delay. The reaction of my fellow passengers was alot of "jeesssuuusss" and "uuuhhh's"

Of course it is not ideal that a 9 hour flight will now take 9 hours and 30 minutes. But then you have to remember that the ability of flight has only been a reality for the last what 60 years. It would of taken 2 weeks 50 years ago, so 9 1/2 hours is not so bad!

People in our form have been on this planet for millions of years. And to be one of the lucky individuals who gets to live now, in this day and age is like winnning the lottery everyday. I know day to day frustrations get to us, but just think of this bullshit life living in a hunter gatherer society 2 million years ago would of been like. life expectancy was what back then 25? 30?

moral of the story dont let a 20 minute line up ruin your day. It's way better than having to hunt meat everyday, or fuck around for 2 hours trying to start a fire with wet wood. or how about your girl dying giving birth to your child and you having to raise it with nothing but a cave??

am I making sense?? I am realy baked right now!!
