Training Time?

Hey guys,
I'm hoping this in the right place, it may belong in diet but I guess I'll find out. I usually train in between lunch and dinner, but this week I won't be able to do that. I'm in the army, so breakfast is served at a specific time and there isn't time to eat breakfast before I report, so would working out early in the morning with no breakfast in my system be a good idea? Or would it be better to go at night after dinner?

If its only a short term thing due to scheduling then before should be fine. It really is what feels best to you. If you are a morn person and have the gusto ... go for it but... if you lag and have more energy at night then go then.
If you are going in morn can you drink a tall glass of milk before for some umph???

It's best if you have some low GI carbs in your system before your workout, or any carbs for that matter. Working out on an empty stomach after 8-10hrs of no eating would mean your body is in a catabolic state, so working out like that would put you further into catabolism. If you're trying to put on mass I'd atleast get in a shake before going out, or go at night.

I agree with above get a pro shake with simple sugers in to get you out of catabolism then train then have food, I have a pro shake and glass of fresh orange an hour before my breakfast everyday

I usually take a protein shake a half hour or so before I go, and would still do that. So going at night seems to be a better option?

HUA Rookie325 What are your goals? If you are trying to lose fat and cut up, working out before you eat would be a good thing. But I'm guessing you want to add mass. Grab an MRE and eat that before you hit the gym or stock up on some grub from the BX......or if you are trying to save money eat the flesh of your dead enemies.

I know this is the common belief, but it turns out not to be true. That being said, if you can get in a shake and that works for you, try that.

You want to hit the gym at whatever time you can perform the best. The amount of weight lifted and intensity will determine your results. If you find yourself walking around the gym like a zombie in the morning...it is probably not the best time for you to lift.

There are many benefits to training while fasted. I just did some research on it, its not a bad deal. Give it a shot, once your body gets used to it you should like it a lot.
