i usually eat my last meal around 11pm ,and sleep around midnight.its usually a whey protein with water.my question is do i have to eat it with fat or not?and why?

You don't have to, but if you get the munchies in the middle of the night, the fat (various nuts, flaxseed oil, natty PB....) will help control your appetite so you don't raid the fridge.

Fat, fiber, slower digesting protein would be much better.
Have cottage cheese (not the gay non-fat crap), with nuts and maybe a salad or something. Much better for overnight than whey with water.

What about a bowl of raisin bran flakes with skim milk?
I hate cottage cheese.

More than half of the protein will be converted into glucose in the absense of carbohydrates. Fat will lower this to 30-40%. Also, consume fiber with the meal to slow gastric emptying.

there was a guy at my local supplements store who told me to take whey with water only.
so,its better to take whey with flax oil, olive oil, peanut butter, etc?
what about carbs?
wont carbs turn to fat since i wont be using any energy while sleeping?
