Do you go buy additional BCAA supplements to add to your shakes/meals?

Only during the last part of a cut....a la Poliquin .17 to .35 grams per kilo of BW.......either 10-15 minutes before a W/O to convince the body LMB has broken down and to "spare LBM, and utilize more FFA's" during the W/O.....

....or, 3-5 capsules every couple sets to prevent the onset of fatigue

I think it would be a total waste w/food!

So you're actually taking them during your workouts?

And I hadn't heard they'd keep the body from breaking down your LBM. I need every ounce of LBM I've got.. that fact alone makes me wanna stock up!

See Poliquin and Sportsci.org (lame triathlete study)

This gets very expensive and you may want to reconsider, broad spectrum aminos can be taken the same way....or with meals to enhance the amino profile of the meal and are way less expensive!

And we are talking once below 6-7% BF

My bf has always been pretty low (I was one SCRAWNY kid) but I coudn't afford to get into any kind of overly expensive supplementing.

But in your opinion, does a serving of these "broad spectrum" amino acid supplements taken pre-workout do anything significant to protect your LBM?

And as for enhancing the amino profile of my meals, it seemed cheap enough, and wouldn't hurt.. so that's why I started this poll.. to get an idea of who actually bothers.

Nutrition, first and foremost OVER supps!

Yes....the Aminos are probably better for your faster matabolism, 20-25 grams proir to a W/O and you definitely qualify for a PWO shake, followed by a meal one hour later!

And it is probably not worth the $$$ over Protein and creatine.
