Ok after seeing another message board this brought up a good point. Personnally, I don't think bodybuilding mags like FLEX and MuslceMag should waist pages on chicks half naked posing in bras and nighties. I mean they are bodybuilding mags.. I say if you want that stuff go buy a PLayboy. Hey I love a half naked gal just as much as the next guy but I don't blow $6.00 an issue for a bodybuilding mag to see that sheeit. Once a year like Sport Illustrated does is ok but every month? I'd rather see the female bodybuilders shown in the same light as the their male counterparts including articles written by them on training, nutrition etc. Those mags should be promoting the topic that their magazine names So boldly are named. FLEX MUSCLEmag MuscleMedia Ironman. I see those names I think of monsters and monster workouts. Not some plastic tittied bot chick that could not walk on a bodybuilding stage. Well thats my opinion. I say keep the bimbos and give me the muscle.
Muscle & Fitness is by my opinion the best mag out there.

i think they do cause if you buy the bodybuiling magazine with the girl in the thong on the front you don't look gay. But you would with some guy with posing tights on the front

Not if your 220 and look like you workout.
But if you walk in with short shorts and clogs. then I see your point

I agree!

Flex is full of articles of guys that are so juiced up they can't see straight, and don't even do the workouts they promote. Half of it, and all bodybuilding mags, is of Muscletech commercials. I get so sick of the muscletech commercials.

I'd prefer to see women in their workout element....wearing the workout clothes and pumping iron. I read fitness mags to keep myself motivated, not to look at skinny girls in thongs. But the reality is that those kinds of pictures sell the magazines to men. Cripes, Mountain Bike magazine recently featured Playboy models posing in front of bikes and stuff. So it's not just bodybuilding mags that do this.

I could tolerate those mags more if they would leave out the MuscleCrap ads.......Personally I read Cigar Aficianado, and couple of Harley type bike rags..........

Musclecrap LOL
you mean nitrotech won't get me jacked??!!! Do I have to take celltech w/ it? Or hydroxycut??

But then again, I guess the answers are all in the 6 page ad.

Fuqqers, when it comes to buying musclemags, I have not (in a long time) and will not again.

The musclecrap ad's have made me never want to see Lee Preist again........

Speaking of fitness ads, who the hell is this guy, and why can't I get away from him!? His damn picture is everywhere in those magazines!! The dude's pushing Otomix, Hydroxycut, and cutting gel, to name a few.

Oh yeah, me too. They make him out to be some fat slob off the street that started using their products.

Posted by: cornfed

Have you seen him in the off-season?

Posted by: IPMC

Hey IAB..........That dude is gay.........

Yeh, and he looks like a fat slob off the street. That just had a 12 pack and a bag of pork rinds.

Posted by: cornfed

Hey, what's wrong w/ pork rinds?

Posted by: IPMC

Nothing is wrong with Pork rinds......just can't eat a whole bag in one setting........... But seriously, I bet Lee Preist takes a can of Cheeze Whiz and squirts it directly into his mouth and washes it down with a 2-liter of Mountian Dew.

Posted by: cornfed

No doubt there

I used to buy Musclemag all the time, the it dawned on me that every 'amazing new arm workout' or some crpa like that was just trying hard in the gym and taking celltech as I will gain 8 pounds in a week and look like Cragi Kovaks in less than 2 years. After wasting a lot of money on magazines that basically told me to go the gym and take a certain product I decided to skip out on the mags.

Ok going back to the original question...
SEX sells!
Need I say more?
Look at car ads.
But I agree with what you're saying Fire, look at Mountain Bike mag,one time they had an article on a playmate that rode MTB,that she was a bank manager,blah,blah,blah...

Posted by: urso8up

all in all sex my sell but i buy the magazines for the ads not the babes in the megs I personally think it is a waste of space another thing is if you buy a megazine to llok at the babes in it what does that say for you wife or girlfriend at home.

Posted by: irontime

.........er.....okay , um urso, pal, put down the beer, take a deep breath and write a little slower would ya?

Posted by: Dero

Errr...IT!!!
Just 'cause you get like this when you are drinking does not mean EVERYBODY is like dat!!!
Maybe,he was in a hurry, that he really wanted to post what he said but ...Had a bus to catch...

Posted by: Scotty the Body

Don't you guys know they put the naked women in them to get the testosterone levels up?
Those mags are a valuable training tool, nothing more.

Posted by: Dero

You mean to say that it has a scientific purpose???

It's not simply another commercial PLOY!!!!
Man.I sure am glad you cleared that up for me...
STB chou da man!!!

Posted by: Scotty the Body

Hey, I'm just telling it like it is, you can let the wife know to if she starts to wonder about the mags and all the half naked women in them.
"Its strictly research dear"

Posted by: Dero

Ummmmm...Wife,what wife????

Plouuuuuuease don't tell me I have one of those...
AND NOBODY,
bothered to tell me about it.

Posted by: Scotty the Body

Thats what happens when you drink Tequila!

Posted by: Dero

Yea but the difference was, Mountain Bike magazine only did the One Issue. Secondly that Playboy gal is one of those Playboy Extreme Team Members and actually gets down and dirty on the bike. She in my belief had every right to be in the magazine. Mountain Bike does not use sex to sell their magazine. The fitness chicks are nothing more then Glamore Queens and models,, not bodybuilders or competitors in any way.

He is a martial artist I think.
