I did it!

I competed in my First Figure Comp-I was scared __itless!! For a lot of reasons, because I was not coming in at my best, but I had to do it anyway. I was paralyzed and was freakin' and wasn't following my competition diet. But I did it anyway, and I am glad I did.

Now, I owe it to myself to do another, and I will eventually switch to bodybuilding. The real reason I didn't go for body building in the first place was
A. I didn't want to have to get to 9% bf or less
B. Posing is hard work and I don't know what the heck I am doing!

So I think Figure was a good way to get my feet wet!
But lordy lordy, for a first comp, with gals in LA that do modeling? I was so out of my league!

But as it turned out, the gals were all awesome! I just would not turn away from them until I got a smile back, and that makes everyone feel better.

And guess who took overall in Figure? The two ladies that took Masters! As in over 35!

CONGRATS!

As a side note.....many sports are like that, with more mature women winning! Racing (triathlon was like that), with the 35-39 class smokin' the field....and almost EVERY BB contest that I have attended....women over 30, not only show the most muscle maturity, density, etc....but usually win the Masters, BW and Overall titles.

I am not sure if the next one I do will be in May or September. But I think eventually I want to do BB instead of Figure.

But this is not a cheap sport and the posing scares me
Once I got posing down, (yeah right ) then I'd have to do a posing routine too.

And the cost of a posing coach? Ouchee!

I think I am leaning towards September, we'll see!

It is very consuming!

Only one suit in BB though-Yipee! Can I wear my hologram suit, and do I have to take my belly piercing out? I am not supposed to do that yet.

And with one suit, I can wear Dream Tan!

It takes time.

I know a very good one, if you're interested and willing to travel.

Time, money, etc. Yes! It is very consuming.

Not adviseable for prejudging. Solid dark color for prejudging. For routine and evening finals the hologram one may work.

No, unless a judge tells you to. They don't like to see any jewelry during women's bb prejudging, but not every judge is strict about it. However, I have seen where they have asked someone to remove their a ring (not a wedding ring).

NPC has banned Dream Tan at most venues because it makes such a mess. Another thing many people don't adhere to. It also has a way of settling onto your skin which takes away from your definition. Although you see some Pro's like Amhad Hadiar advertising for it, trust me, they don't use it.

Thanks everyone. I will be getting back in the working force shortly-I am currently a SAHM, so getting a routine, and used to things for my whole family will be my primary focus, at first. But I have decide to do the NPC San Fancisco show in September. This time I will do Body building though. That will be enough time for me to get my work routine, schedule under control. And I owe it to myself to come in at my best.
