I've never seen any reliable studies indicating that more than .9g of protein per pound of bodyweight is worth a shit. So, 1g per pound is pretty easy and on the safe side in case you use protein that has an average bioavailability worse than that used in the study. Consume that and spread it evenly throughout your meals.

Take protein shakes after a workout, maybe when you wake up. The rest of the day should be food.

What's your current bodyweight and protein intake?

push and pull...

i weigh 240lbs. my daily protein intake through supplements is 114 grams and maybe little more than that through food. i dont believe i reach 240 gr of protein a day. thats hard. btw even if im 240lbs i dont look big. its not muscle weight. its more water weight and whatever else. if i want i can lose 20lbs+ in a week. but hard to gain. born ectomorph. 6 years ago i was 180lbs. even after all these years i can gain some weight but still strugle with the size.

Don't stress about bodytypes so much. Somatyping is a bunch of bullshit. Mesomorph is actually the most common out of the three "pure" types - 3/10,000 people. Yeah, three in ten thousand. Most common.

You, like everybody else, are a mix of genetic qualities, abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Thankfully, no matter what your genetics pre-dispose you to, you can change it with training and diet. You might be better suited to certain things, or have a harder time doing certain things, but fuck it.

If you hold a lot of water weight then lower carb diets might be a good option because of all the water that comes with carb storage in the body. Bulk on fat and protein and SOME carbs but don't go insane with the carbs.

If you're bulking, ditch cardio except for some sprints every now and then. If you have a lot of fat to start with, a hard cut before bulking will help partition your later gains towards muscle.

When i bulk up i get 4-5k calories, top foods for me are chicken, ribs, nuts, whole milk, and avocado. Yummy. Have been cutting the last two months, have limited my carbs, increased fat and protein, and sat around 2700 calories (500-600 deficit). Dropped 18lbs so far.

Theres a whole bunch of stickies in the diet section that can give you far more and far better diet advice than me. Read them!

You need to increase protein intake for sure. Furthermore, I'd be willing to bet your overall calorie intake is lower than it should be.

You take in most of your protein in a single meal?
