Ever not get sore?

I rarely, if ever get sore from working out.

Sometimes I'll feel a little tight the next day, but only if I don't work out for a week do I actually get sore the next time I come in.

I know I have better than average form, don't really stress myself with the weights, try to stay comfortable. I do plenty of exercises.

Think I'm doing something wrong?

Just because you don't get sore the next day does not mean that the workout was not productive. How much do you sleep a night? Maybe you recover faster than other people. The best way to find out if you are doing to little/much is to keep a journal in the weight room. Are your lifts going up? Are you getting stronger? If not maybe you are undertraining.

I definintely heal fast. I'm rarely sick and bruises/cuts usually heal pretty damn fast.

I get anywhere from 5-8 hours of sleep. I've been trying to adjust my schedule recently so I can start waking up early to go for runs in the AM.

My lifts are going up. Not by extreme amounts. But I mostly relate this to the fact that I train alone. If I had a spotter I'd put myself out on a limb a little better.

I should probably start talking to people at the gym and try to strike up some rappore so I won't feel bad pulling someone to spot me. I haven't so far because too many people sit there and shmooze and kill time IMO, and I really don't care to know them

Thats all that matters then, some people are lucky and don't get that sore.

don't feel bad about asking someone for a spot. Most people are happy to assits. If they say "no" at least you never have to worry about wasting your time spotting them!

are you progressing in any way in your work-outs?

more reps, heavier weights, etc.?

are you gaining any size or strength?

I do 3 sets x 10 reps for most everything I do.
Sometimes, if I'm not burning up, I'll keep going.

I do put on heavier weights once in a while. Depends. I do burn up though. Like, if I do 80lb dumbell bench press, I can't really push more than 65lbs on the incline.

If I start off with the incline, I could push the 80. Etc. I get broken down, which sucks, 'cause I leave pissed and don't get sore over it.

I also don't rest much between sets. Sometimes just enough time to get a quick drink, mostly under a minute.

I'm definitely progressing

well, if you're progressing that's really all that matters.

but I would suggest you try increasing weight and shoot for the 6-8 rep range.

I'll give that a whirl.

I'm currently straddling 250lbs (I'm about 5'8) ...

I was down to about 225 a couple years ago, then got a GF, up to 275 (kill me now) ... and on the way back down again.

So I'm into shaping, getting hard, and getting strenght back over how much I can lift. Last time I had a spot on the bench, I put up about 225 no problem. I have a friend moving up for a contract job, and I'm gonna get him to go to the gym, so I can have a spot and crank up the heat!!!

People talk about this alot, I hardly ever get sore unless I push myself past what I did the last time, by a good margin. Usually this is after a layoff, or maybe doing a new set of excersizes, overall though I hardly ever get sore.
