How can you tell if you are ready to start your first cycle?

Hey folks!

I apologize in advance for my n00bish question.. but...

Im 21 years old.. 5'11, 228lbs mesopmorphic leaning towards endo morphic.. Ive been lifting seriously for size only since october..

I know Im not ready yet to start AS, but I wanna know how would I know that Im ready?

I just want to improve my muscularity, and achieve some density.. ..

You need to educate yourself on their use, legal issues and safety in using. There are links in posts here and you can run any number of searches on the subject and find both gems and crap. Do some readin' and feel free to ask questions.

I see alot of the people askin about AS are realatively SMALLER than I am..

How do any endo/mesomorphic bodytypes go about starting thier first cycle?

iam pretty much a meso all the way around used to think more of an endo but i was wrong as results from the last were outstanding. Basicaly bro iam not gonna tell u u have to be a certain age to start I think you should realy evaluate your goals. If u just wanna be ripped on the beach stay natural for a couple more years now if u wanna compete Id say start now and dont ever look back. I know iam not

That decision has as much or more to do with emotional maturity than it does physical maturity. You look like you got a good base. I would work on establishing more muscle maturity and maybe trimming down just a bit. You have a good foundation though. I found that the longer I waited, the better results I had. I don't mean that I just exploded, buth the quility just seemed alot better than what I see on younger users.

LoL, dude there are guys on thier 5th cycle and nowhere near 200 pounds yet, and I'm not talking 4'10" guys either.

Some people just dont have the dicipline, for the diet or the training. I HAVE come across threads where someone will be up 3 pounds one week, down 5 the next, and so on, they will claim not feeling like working out that week, getting sick the next, having half ass workouts (at least they admit it), and so on.

Its really a personal choice as to when you want to start, just make sure you know what your doing before hand, legally and chemically. Best to study before hand, because legal problems are a BIG issue right now, there are alot of busts and almost all of them are due to either sloppiness, or being involved in recreational drug use/selling as well. Lots of bad mojo right now.

Only you can decide when you want to start. Just make sure to study up so you dont end up either ripped off, full of side effects, and that sort of thing. There are also guys under 200 pounds using a gram a week, which is f'ing ridiculous

well.. Ive got my discipline down for diet.. I dont think i know my body well enough as far as training.. so well see.. I'll just keep reading.

There is alot to learn, but that kind of depends on how complex you want to get, and cycles should be IMO very simple until the 'need' arises to get jiggy, which comes with experience and bodyweight neither of which I have. A mistake often made is too high dosing used, and too complicated cycling, I came across a guy planning to do 900mg test and 400mg deca a week for his SECOND cycle, and the guy hardly looks like he lifts, youngster going overboard.

Anyway, there is a fair amount to learn, but like I said there are also the basics, and it doesn't take much to get started. There are some good boards out there, I can PM or email these too you since we can't post them here, which I didn't know...

I was kinda wondering where to go as far as where IS square one.

Hey now, STR... MJ, though a flaming homo, is a decent guy and I can't blame him for being hesitant to give out potentially harmful info to ya...

I'm sure that helpful is what we want to be, but I think the motivation here is also to try to keep people from just jumping on the AAS train.

Some principles to keep in mind:

1)The key to the issue is this...
BB = 60% diet, 40% training & 10% supps
(yeah, I know that's 110, but the principle is true)

2)Supps of any kind when pertaining to hormones are just something to be added to the rest. An d that is something that many do not realize. If you're not making gains naturally, then gear won't benefit you as much as it could.

3)the discipline required to follow a cycle wisely is often underrated and misunderstood. It requires greater discipline to follow diet, training, overtraining, recovery, and then hormone levels than traditionally natural methods.

4) it is a dangerous undertaking unless you are properly educated on the substances, their interaction, the methodology of how they work and the way in which your body responds via side effects, cravings, impulses, etc...

5)tis not wise to do any cycle @ a bf% over 17-18, and never bulk @ over 14%, as neither serve a purpose other than potentially worsening potential problems and preventing the best use of the AAS.


Those are just some general things to consider... and I have a tendency for soapboxes

On a side note (and I'll be the 1st to admit that I'm not the most impressive physical specimen, but I can be a good judge ), you're 228, but if you were shredded, you would be under 200 (probably 185-187lbs), so don't be too anxious to judge by your size just yet. It would be wise to work toward lowering your bf%, while you're contemplating and studying AAS. w/ where you're @ now, I'd look @ trying to get to 200-205 b4 you touch a cc of anything (assuming that you decide to do anything, which noone here but you can decide).

I never will encourage anyone to start AAS. But if a person decides to, then it's best that we help educate them. And it's a continual process. Size does not = knowledge and learning never ends, for any of us.

Try to read up on drug profiles, the endocrine system (the way hormones work and which do what), and also, it would be helpful to have bloodwork done NOW to have a reference point for the future on (test, estradiols, progesterone and prolactin). This can help you beter understand your body which is key.

Can I add something, even though I know Squat about illicit AAS and have never touched the stuff?

I would think, were I contemplating using, I'd want to be damn near my genetic limits. In other words, I'd want to make sure the rest of my house was in order (diet, training, rest, supplementation,etc) for long enough to say, man, I have really hit the wall.

I listed a good website for you, and I have some more useful information. All I was doing was trying to figure out where you were mentally, because AS gives you a sense of well-being, and you have to be careful about your mental approach - I KNOW THAT FROM EXPERIENCE

Yeah, I'm near 240 now but damn I need to kill some bodyfat. Unless you compete though, screw being shredded. Gaining size while being low bodyfat is going to be tough, most people dont bulk on clean diets unless they are natural.

I hope that your first cycle prove to be a successful one. Just remember that there many factors to consider, from sodium intake, to need for cranberry extract, milk thistle, all the way to acheiving a positive nitrogen balance
