For anyone that may be interested in attending the 2003 NPC New York Metropolitan where I will be competing in the Fitness division, here is the information:

Date: March 29th, 2003
Time:Place: Tribecca Performing Arts Center

This show is held in conjunction with the NY Pro Fitness show, so if you do come out you'll also be able to meet some of your favorite IFBB Pro Fitness Competitors and Gunter Schlierkamp is guest posing.

Hmm...Gunter is guest posing at 2 of my shows. Is he stalking me or am I stalking him

Good luck Lorraine!!!! Have fun!!!

I could never figure out...

What's the difference between a.m prejudging and evening finals? Are the decisions already made in the prejudging? Does it have to be such a long event?

Thanks Lina!

In answer to your question of whether the decision are already made in the prejudging, the answer is yes and no and sort of. LOL!

At a small regional show where there are few competitors, many times yes, the decision is already made before the evening finals although you won't find any judge that would openly admit that. Usually, at these smaller regional shows the evening finals are really for the friends and families. That's where the bodybuilders get to do their routine to music (a.m. they don't). For fitness they usually just do all three rounds in the a.m. and p.m.(it depends on who's running the show). For figure, they usually do both rounds in the a.m. and only the 1-pc round in the evening (again, it depends on who's running the show.)

However, at larger show or a national level show where you could potentially have well over 300 competitors amongst men's bb, women's bb, fitness and figure, it is impossible for them to go through all the rounds of each division in the a.m. Therefore, they make a preliminary decision in the a.m. and bring back the top 5 in each class of each division for the finals.

At the larger shows, yes, it does need to be a long event. At a small regional show, probably not.

Thanks Lorraine!

I should check in here more often! I just saw this!

Did you have a good time at the Arnold?

Posted by: Lorraine

Lina~Yes, I had a great time at the Arnold. I got to stand on stage with Arnold when he presented the Men's Overall award to Jay Cutler. And then I was very fortunate to be seated a few tables away from Arnold at the VIP Dinner.

Then after the VIP Dinner we kicked back at Jen Hendershott's private party with all her friends and family. It was a nice gathering with good jazz music for those that weren't into the Craig Titus/Kelly Ryan after party craziness.

All in all it was a kick butt weekend!

Thanks Kuso I hope I do well, too. I've got less than 3 weeks to get the last 45 secs of my routine down and put it together with the first 60 secs.

Thanks Lina!

I'll post pictures from the competition as soon as I can.

I do have many pictures from the Arnold. You can check them out on my new Personal Photos Gallery

I will be added more from the Arnold as I get time. Plus I will be added more personal candid photos from various events, etc.
