Hi. My name is Deb and I'm kinda new here. I have a question for w8 or DP, or anyone else with the knowledge to help me.

I am following the female cutting plan as outlined by DP in the "Best Nutritional Thread" (low carb with 2 carb-up meals per week). What is the purpose of the banana specifically? What I mean is, can any other fruit be used for that carb-up meal such as an apple instead? Don't get me wrong, I like bananas but was just wondering if another fruit could be used in place of the banana, and still have the same effect.

Thanks in advance for your response.

The reason we use a banana is because it's high in sugar. After going 3-4 days w/o carbs, the goal is to totally replenish your glycogen stores....the banana is higher in sugar and higher on the glycemic index than an apple. Substitutions can be made sometimes though

Thanks w8 and DP for the quick answer and welcome. I just have to tell you guys - you are a wealth of information. The knowledge from the two of you combined is nothing short of amazing. I have learned so much just browsing these boards and with your help, I know I can reach my goals.

Thanks again.
