When is .5ml really .7ml??

I'm cruising on 250mg test cyp for 6 weeks. I pin the usual .5ml twice a week. This morning I withdrew my .5ml dose in a 3ml syringe with an 18g needle, I drew back the plunger to change to a 25g needle and using the 1ml marking on the syringe I noticed that my .5ml initial dose was measuring almost .7ml. So apparently the needle and headspace on the syringe aren't figured in to the total dose. When I pin I make sure to add air to the syringe and tap the bubble loose from the area of the needle so I am able to get the total amount of test out. I guess from now on I have to take into account that I'm drawing more test than I realize. The difference between .5ml and .7ml doesn't sound like much but it equates to 350mg/wk verses 250mg/wk. I'm glad I figured this out only 2 weeks in rather than later!!!

Anybody else ever notice this?

Yes I have noticed this before.
I think this is why some fella's make a small amount of air in the barrel so when they put it all in the small air amount helps to get it all out and some say to kinda lock the dose into you.
A tiny amount of air doesnt hurt a thing.
I prefer not to but if I was running low on gear or doing what you are doing it may be something for you to look at.

yeah but you gotta figure that the oil in the tip and needle aren't pushed out either, so you are still getting .5 mL it just takes you .7 mL to get your .5 mL

this. you can see that the measurement on the syringe starts at the base, but just like its not drawn into the syringe, its not pushed into the muscle either.
I wast hinking about this and how many syringes I have around wondering how much test I really have in them all and how to combine them lol

Yes, for long term cruise it's best to be very accurate in your dose and you do have to take this measurement into account. I use a 20g 1" to draw and a 25g 1" with 1ml syringe accurate to .01 ml. I account for .05 in the needle and head, and use that exact amount for bubble when switching needles. When you aspirate, the air in your fresh needle will pull into the chamber, resulting use of all the test and very accurate dose.

I figured 18ga 1.5" was about .1ml in head space. I usually figure that into the injection. So for .5ml I pull in .4ml and when I draw the oil in to switch out to the injection needle I have the amount I want, .5ml.

But you still wouldn't be getting it all would you? Should you pull some air into the syringe so it will push the oil out ? That seems kinda dangerous lol....

its not dangerous at all. I've never pinned without leaving .2-.3cc of air at the plunger to push all the oil out. no waste no danger.

Oh Ok well thanks for the advice man!

Sounds to complicated. Fill the barrel to the desired ml and inject. There is always going to be some oil in the pin.

Not for me a little air and you will push it out you would be suprised how much you lose if you dont.
