How can the manufacturer of Detour bars, the best tasting protein bar, make the most foul tasting whey protein shake I have ever tasted?
I tried adding some cream, hoping it might taste better. I don't even think a cup of sugar and a ton of strawberries can help this damn thing taste any better...
For those wondering which one I'm talking about it's Designer Whey, the French Vanilla flavor.

....hell I just figured out why it's FOUL!! it has the word "French" on it...ROTFLOL..sorry just had to add that one.....

I know, I know, but some like it...I feel that whey (pun) about their Praline and French Vanilla, Strawberry is not that good, and Neutral...well it's neutral. The Chocolate is decent though, less sweet than most!

Vanilla whey by any brand is gross in my opinion. I stick with chocolate. It tastes the best to me. The others have souch a fake and disgusting taste.
That sucks Max. How much do you have left to pound down? I have when I buy a 5lb. jug and it tastes like crap right out of the gate. I just stick with optimum chocolate now. It is the safest bet taste wise.

Vanilla in my experience is almost always the most neutral flavored, and requires the least flavoring to protein ratio to get taste out of it.
I have yet to find a good mix from Proteinfactory, although all my protein has been food for the last month or so.

OMG!!! I TOTALLY TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU MAX! THAT STUFF IS HORRIBLE!!! I made this mistake of Buying that crap also about 4 months ago, ITS DISGUSTING! NOTHING HELPS IT AT ALL!! YUCK YUCK!
I even TRIED to use some of it last week, making protein bars homemade with it.. As much splenda & Nat. PB I used..those things are Still GROSS!
I'm just gonna trash it!

I've eaten insects and snakes in Thailand that tasted better.

LoL you guys are funny, it must be pretty bad. I down my shakes quickly without breathing anyway, the worst stuff I've ever had though was soy based, nothing could cover up the taste of unflavored soy shake, nasty.

The worst I ever had was this shit called 'Bio-Phase' It tasted like clumpy shrimp juice. I actually threw up twice forcing this shit down my throat. What really pissed me off was the 'Great Taste' label on the side

I use Strawberry and Chocolate Designer. I used to use the vanilla in my oats long ago, but must admit it doesnt taste good.
the WORST powder I have is a choclate by Sprtpharma? that has some kind of fat burner in it. I wil check the name when I go home. I almost purged while drinking it

I tried mixing protein powder in foods, and it just doensn't work for me, makes thing worse. I just down it and get it over with.
