"Left wing Simon Gagne, who aggravated his groin injury this week in practice, wasn't able to play Feb. 27 against the Blackhawks. According to the Delaware County Daily Times, it appears Gagne might need another week. "I don't want to say anything now," Gagne told the newspaper. "I want to speak to the doctor and everybody. I want everybody to be on the same page with this." Gagne last played Feb. 4 against the Islanders."

Just yesterday Coach Hitchcock was saying to the press that Gagne needs to suck it up and get back on the ice. He said everyone has dings this time of year and you just have to play through them. Does this remind anyone else of a certain former Flyer named Lindros?

albob, after shortly after this story was written Gagne came back and played. unfortunately, he re-reaggravated his groing that same very game. The talk right now is that he will be back for the playoffs. we'll see.

Yeah, I saw that. Groin injuries are the worst, they're as bad as hamstring injuries, they can nag you for years. I wonder if the rumors really were true, that Clarke was looking at trading him. We'll never know.

Even if he does come back for the play-offs I doubt he'll be very effective. With an injury like that you can hardly do ANY training so he'll be so out of shape he'll barely be able to catch his breath. Not all bad news though, not many teams out there that can boast a line up like; Roenick, Recchi, Amonte, Leclaire and Premeau.

With his awesome speed he seems out of place among the brutes on the Flyers. Wouldn't he be a good guy to send in on the forecheck? I mean, once you dump it in he'd always be the first guy there and if he could make a decent centering pass we'd have scoring chances out the wazoo.

I think he should fit in now more than ever. The Flyers are the fastest they have probably ever been. Roenick, Amonte, Kapanen, and williams and Gags if they come back.
I think we will see great things on the PP with all of the speed and creativity they now have.

I forgot, Claude Lapointe is also pretty fast.
