Am I the only one here that gives a shit?

Posted by: Pepper

I give a shit. Trying despartely to get out to AZ for some spring games. I am tax guy, so it is real hard to get away this time of year. Maybe redirecting to FLA since it is closer.

I love this time of year! I get abused for watching preseason games on the dish instead of basketball.

Posted by: I Are Baboon

Cool! Another baseball fan! What team do you follow? I'm a die hard Red Sox fan myself.

Woo Hoo!! I give a shit!!!!

Posted by: Pepper

I have never had a team that I would say I am a die hard fan of. I am a roving fan. Larry Walker & Vlad Guerrero are two of my favorite players so I watch alot of the Expos and Rockies games. I have DirecTV so get to pick my games most nights. I watch the Snakes alot too.

We do have one thing in common, we hate the Yankees!

I guess I would say the Expos are my favorite team IF they would leave Montreal. That city is an embarrassment to baseball. Put that team in NoVa and that would probably be my favorite.

Baseball is the greatest game ever invented by man.

I am a die hard Cleveland Indians fan.

You're from Brooklyn and you're NOT a Yankee or Met fan!? God bless you.

Posted by: P-funk

I live in brooklyn right now....I have only been living here a little over a year now. I grew up in Cleveland and I lived in Boston for 4 years while I was going to college. I lived right next to Fenway park. I hate the Mets and the Yankees but I hate the Red Soxs even more. I think they are a pathetic franchise and there fans are some of the most worthless fair weather fans I have ever seen.

HEY! Dem's fightin words!!!

Posted by: Rusty

<---------- Rangers Fan......and I don't wanna hear about it.

Posted by: P-funk

I know....I have sat in the bleachers of fenway park during Red Sox, Indians games and I would almost get in fights becuase I would heckle the crappy red sox players like trot nixon. That teams is full of so many stiffs.........

Posted by: Yanks20

IAB - not again about the whole Red Sox thing. so are you gonna try and get some of those seat on the Monster. most are reserved for corporate outings but appartently they have a standing room area reserved as well.

i'm sure we could go on about this all day. worst move i think the Yanks made was rushing to sign Contressas (sp). he may be good but is pressing way to hard right now.

Sox will do no better then 2nd place again this year, you can count on that....

Posted by: I Are Baboon

Yanks, those Monster seats sold out the weekend they went on sale. I'd love to sit up some time. Can you imagine the fights that could break out up there when the Yankees come to town?

Oh yeah, 2nd place for the Sox again this year.

Contreras is having a rough Spring, but give him some time. You can not expect any pitcher to join MLB and start striking out every batter he faces. Cuban leagues are good, but MLB is a whole different ballgame.

Posted by: Yanks20

I'm sure a few left fielders are gonna hate those new seats!! Yeah, everyone seems to get so fired up when the Yanks come to town, don't know why??? ($150MM - Payroll??)

At least you already agree on where the sox are gonna finish, glad i didn't have to beat it into you...

I agree that I think Contreras is gonna be a good pitcher but you know how the public in NY handles things. look at how they treated Giambi in the early part of the season (booed on a few occasions). maybe they should be smart for once and give him time to adjust (especially since his father is deathly ill) and give him a few starts under his belt in the minors before pressing him into action..

have really heard much about Godzilla (he has hit 3 home runs) but other than that the media has been pretty quiet about him

Hey,

Don't forget the Jays, I think you are underestimating what Richardi (Sp?) has done for this team. Especially after the way they finished the season and so far during Spring Training.

They may give Boston a run for their Money!

Iusually get interested about September, that's when I look to see if the Phillies are still around. So, are they gonna suck again this year?

Posted by: Yanks20

albob - actually with the addition of thome and millwood i feel they have just a good of a chance unseeting the braves as the revamped mets do. should be on the better divisions in the NL this year in my opinion.

so you only get interested in the final season of the month. damm, america's past time is one of the best times of the year. i will regulary watch as many games as i can a year and probably go to at least 30 games/year. but then again baseball is my favorite sport....

Posted by: P-funk

Hey Yanks, are you only a Yankees fan? Or do you have some love for the Mets also? It seems like New Yorkers are pretty split when it comes to liking both teams.

When it comes to professional sports I'm a football and hockey fan BIG TIME. Baseball just never held that much of a fasination for me. I love GOING to games but usually minor league teams. Used to go to the Las Vegas Stars' games all the time, now they're called the 51's. Bottom line is, I'd rather be playing than watching.........................and at my age that means softball. I still love that game.

Posted by: Yanks20

Yankees all the way. with both team in NY you read about both teams all season long so it is on fitting to know what each club is up to, same with Football between the Giants and Jets (Giants fan by the way)..

in all reality i have never really been a big fan of the NL in general.

Posted by: P-funk

Yeah, I am not a NL fan either.......I am die hard for the Cleveland Indians though. So I have no interest in watching the Yankees. So I end up watching the Mets if there is no other game on. I am really anti-yankees....sorry.

Posted by: tucker01

NL is the best and purest form of the game, for whatever that means nowadays! I have to agree with most about the Yankees

Same here. As soon as April rolls around, it'll be time to break out the glove and bat. Last year our season started in May and lasted until November.

PS. Another Yankee fan here.

One of the zillion reasons I'm moving to Vegas, softball 12 months a year.

You mean FOOTBALL, right?

Basketball is for girls. I don't even consider it a real sport.

Yes, football is a good sport, too. But I was referring to those sports that I still participate in, hence the basketball reference. I used to play flag football into my mid-thirties, but people lost interest and I haven't played in quite a while.

Let me guess. You were always picked last for pickup games at the playground.
